  1. no but in description says wall thicknesses below minimum recommended(which I believe is usually 20 thou) plus 1 barrel has a dent?..
  2. your shooting does not get any worse does it...!cracking shooting again b325.
  3. ive been using just cartridges club 28g 7.5 fibre(which I am pretty sure are same cartridge) have so far shot @ 700 with no fails...in fact think they are a brilliant cartridge for £190/thou.........

    The Masters

absolutely love it...try to watch it all........am off to put a little e/w on Matsuyama/played better than his score last night/got toe temperament and Augusta experience.......personally would love Rose to win....has served his time/come so close........
  5. I would certainly go give it a go in the field first....just see it as some choke in right barrel more in left and don't get too hung up on the 'nominal'...pattern plates v 'real world' are often 2 very different things...
  6. if it is as reported no Jury will put him away.
  7. incredibly brave of you to put this up on a public platform.I would say your health is far far more important than shooting at this point in your life..please go and see your GP. It does not automatically follow that your certificate shall be revoked but even if it is then perhaps concentrating on the important things in life such as your health/family is the most important. You clearly have a brilliant wife what does she advise? As clearly she will want what is best for you? All the very best.
  8. depends upon her size/attitude/strength etc...1st off would take her to a clay ground and let an instructor fit her with a ground gun/instruct her...v easy to put her off and you will know after 1st session whether she really is interested in taking it further..my kids both started off with 28 g club guns nice and gentle nudges/light and pointable...cartridge choice of course most important too.....start as light as possible...fear of recoil is massive for kids starting out. As we all know a nice heavy gun soaks recoil better but a junior wants a light weight gun as easier to handle......lightweight is fine so long as cartridge selection sensible...clay grounds use light loads typically. I have little experience of Semi-autos(in fact never particularly liked them)..but they are supposed to be best for felt recoil.......most good grounds will have a selection of guns, let her try a few before deciding what to buy.......
  9. Bisley pay & play is for more experienced shots.Insurance is mandatory for the pay & play.I would suggest 1st time you go have an instructor accompany you who will show you the ropes..BSG has a great lay out. BASC is £78 per annum, can buy online. You dont need it with instructor...but do for their pay & play diy version. all best
  10. I would suggest that your gun is not ideal fit..this is fairly important with a shotgun as you want it to shoot where you are looking..also as a newbie cant beat taking the time to a) go practise on clays and b) do this with a coach/instructor at a clay ground.......not only will they give you a good steer they will soon see if your gunfit is badly out.....it will be difficult to improve much if your gun is not shooting near where you point it. 35 yrs with rifle/air rifle it is v likely you are 'aiming' your shotgun where what you want/need to be doing is having a gun and and a gun mount that shoots where your eyes are looking(you look at target not barrels/sight/beads with a shotgun)....you also need to get to grips with concept of 'lead'/forward allowance/gun movement/swing which I think is best explained/discovered on a few clays......a round of skeet would be ideal.Have you a nearby clay ground? all best.

13 penalties/Finn Russell/Hugh Jones class acts/ 10 turnovers... Scots killed England in turnovers...a total thrashing is the truth and the team that really wanted it got it and deserved it too. From the moment I saw the Scottish players faces as the bagpipes played flower of Scotland I thought on **** we are going to get one today...and boy did we! Well played Scotland great all round performance totally fair result..
  14. Figgy, I am in W Sussex dependent upon where in Surrey you are working not too far away....you are v welcome to leave your gun/equipment etc in my safe if it helps you?I am going to have another go at the Essex masters, not immediately sure which day though.Do you go home for w/ends?happily keep your gun safe etc if helps. PS I was the fat bloke who shot this event with you 2 years ago when your North Eastern crew showed me how to shoot!!...
  15. whereas 3rd one looks ideal for knocking in fence posts...
  16. no worries.someone local will be along shortly...these are a v decent cartridge.
  17. do you work travel bit further toward sussex could meet somewhere?if so i'll take this slab off your hands?
  18. agree re disturbance etc..other thing which would concern be is a winged bird landing on a car/motorcyclist.......not ideal.Just because it is legal does'nt make it ideal/sensible.
  19. believe it is a new part of Cowdray estate...I heard it is open EVERY day?also told very nice spot/good layout although I have not been there myself but spoke to someone who has.
  20. I like a lot of folk suspect have fond memories, had an Anchuuss(?) and webley bolt action 410s...brother and I got 4 cartridges between us and would get another 4 IF we came back with a rabbit or a pigeon...!!(who would have thought would now be sitting here drinking Chateau de Chasally....try telling the youth of today.........).
  21. If you want to push the boat out Gleneagles Hotel do it v well...not cheap!..
  22. Did Brian Clegg used to coach at Bisley?..The name rings a bell......if tallish with beard @ 65 he taught my boys to shoot!!......if it is him a superb bloke/teacher......used to shoot with Kriegoff before they were everywhere!!..not only could he shoot he could teach it too......
  23. OP, see previous threads on same topic; in nutshell my view is; 1.no rush to buy try a few 2.2nd hand best value/looked after guns last 3.money spent on a few lessons more important at this point than filling gun cabinet 4.what is your budget? If in doubt buy Miroku/Beretta......likely to always be tradeable if/when you want to change... 5.buy insurance(join BASC/CPSA or whoever) 6.Do you know yet the most likely type of shooting you will mainly do?.......this will impact the type of gun to chose somewhat... enjoy!Shooters are normally a pretty friendly lot.....at your local clay ground say you are new at this game and I would hope you will be welcomed/offered a try on a few different guns etc..
  24. guessing eyesight...could'nt see when his todger was in the **** pot...
