  3. Thanks for the interest. Yes, I did. Richard at Newavon arms (Pill, near Bristol) was able to sort it for me.
  4. I've had my Miroku MK60 20 bore (Teagued) for six years. My cartridge of choice is Lyallvale special twenty fibre 28 grm 6's. Mainly for pigeons, rabbits and crows. Have tried RC's successfully but their availability locally is inconsistent.
  5. I suppose it depends on the size of screen you opt for. I built one with a 5 inch screen so the box was 6 X 4 X 2 1/4 from Maplins.

    Aa silencer

If you've got your Blue Peter model makers badge there's a Youtube video on how to strip the AA silencer down and improve it's sound suppression qualities.
  10. Accountants are not infallible and do make mistakes. Tell your accountant that you require the spread sheet in order to check her workings. They are your accounts and if they form the baseline for your tax return then it is you who is responsible to HMRC for their accuracy. She is also required to return your prime documents. My wife uses a tax assist office for her tax return and every year I have found at least one error. I am retired. Never was a high street accountant or dealt with tax. Worked in manufacturing and Central Govn't and a mail order company and could put FCMA after my name which is how I know that accountants do make mistakes. Which is why I say you should be certain in what you are submitting to HMRC.

  12. Sadly, a sign of the times, they are regarded a lock knife because the collar turns to lock the blade. (Unless you have one without the collar). So, unless you have a defensible good reason to be carrying one in a public place then it's against the law to carry one. Absolute bilge and carp. But that's the way it is. Despite that, I still use one. Great piece of kit.
  13. Lucky chap. And you got your girlfriend..................?
  14. Each to his own, which is why we have choice. But not for me. Shotgun manufacturers design a nice gun with clean lines. Then some folk spoil that design by adding two ugly knurled blobs on the end. A bit like sticking warts on the face of the Venus de Milo.

    Second jobs

Some time since I ran a small payroll. There used to be an option by which you can agree with HMRC to divide your personal allowance between both employers but it can get messy when job switching. For most folk, if you are doing both jobs concurrently then you treat one of them (say, your warden job) as your primary job and it is against these earnings against which your personal allowance is used. You inform your second employer of this and they tax your wages at Basic Rate ie you pay tax on those earnings at 20%. At the end of the tax year you complete your tax return where you list your combined gross income using the end year P60's provided by both employers and set your personal allowance against your total income. The net result is taxable income taxed at 20%. Against this you show from your P60's the total tax deducted by both employers. Any tax overpaid will be refunded by HMRC. Any underpayment you pay to HMRC. If you are doing the jobs consecutively ie you move from warden to the council then when you finish the wardens job the employer will give you a P45. This shows your pay and tax for the financial year to date. The second employer keys these sums into their system and you move forward. On PAYE, most employers are interfacing with HMRC monthly so HMRC will know why you're earning!!! HTH
  16. As I read it this is the crux of the issue. There is no evidence that it was FAC when you sold it and no knowledge of what may have happened to it once it left your hands. Sympathise with those concerned but the current problem (if there is one, and that's far from clear at the moment) is none of your concern. And, in the unlikely event of a visit hold the same line. Stay calm, play a straight bat and sleep peacefully.
  17. Welcome to Bristol. Weather forecast looks cool and cloudy. If you've time for a short mooch round then avoid shops like Cabot Circus, The Galleries and The Mall. All chain style stores like you have up your way. Recommend you soak up a bit of our history. For example visit St Mary's Redcliffe church, described by QE 1st in 1574 as the fairest goodliest and famous church parish church in England. Or the City Docks and the restored SS Great Britain (Isombard Kingdom Brunel), near to which is The Matthew (if in harbour) a reconstruction of John Cabot's famous ship. Bristol Blue Glass workshops. M shed with it's history of Bristol. All within a few hundreds yards of each other in that area of the docks. Braces will give you directions.
  18. I'm confused. Whenever We've moved /changed houses the documents come with a street plan with a red boundary line which dileanates the property in question, including gardens. And there is a different scale drawing showing just the property again with the red line showing what we were buying. And these are lodged with land registry. Did you not have a drawing dileanating what you were buying? If you did then did it show the full original garden or only a smaller garden i.e. excluding the area where there is now a pool? Alternatively, Is the property properly described in the contract of sale. Either of these will identify what you bought. If so then you should be aware of what you bought. so how does a boundary dispute now exist?

Boobies!!!!!! Not my style either but if it ticks your boxes and avoids the dreaded "Blank Day" so be it. Snow White, as a matter of interest, was it private lake or water board lake and what do you pay and the daily limit up your way? Just curiosity. I am looking at fishing this week at Blagdon Lake outside Bristol (Bristol Water Board). The price per fisherman per boat this season is £36.00 concession for a row boat. Up £5 from what we paid last season. I.e. Over £70 for the boat. Bank tickets £17.50 concessions. Full day ticket is 8 sizeable fish. By comparison a local private lake bank fishing is 3 fish limit £19.00 Bob

  21. Go for it. Have a go. I wanted to make a spotter and had the same self doubts. With advice from DaveG, FalconFN I bought a soldering Iron and did it. Really chuffed. Have now built an add on. Yes. You only put them in the scope for NV and take them off in the day.

  23. I do very little clay shooting but needed a restock and bought some Kent (Competition, I think? They're stored elsewhere) It was only when I got the slab (250) home did I spot that they were subsonic. I've never use subsonic, either for clays or rough shooting and am very used to Lyale Vale express. Always open minded and willing to give anything a go but what difference will I experience with subsonics over that which I am used too? For example, A slower cartridge but is there negligible difference in terms of lead etc. All constructive comments welcommed. Thanks.
