I have a few to try and thought it would be just the aim point a little higher but found they were up to the left about 50mm at 50m so would need to re zero. So only subs now.

I started with a Hatsan. Like the extra fire power trying for three birds is almost as much fun as getting 3 for 3. Synthetic stock is a no worry solution and at the price it's easy to swap later if you want to. 7000 rounds in a year and the bolt carriage broke swapped it under warranty for £200 against an a300 again synthetic. I would practice practice and practice the mount, loose the foresight trust the gun and stop aiming. The only down side for me is using it in low light or for roosting when I will take my o/u as I have to collect the empties.

Cracking collection there. A fair bit of work gathering for the photo shoot

)) and my laptop has bust lol. Out in the morning to look for something to shoot. I am hoping for something on the silage or even some late maize drilling. Either way it's a look round to start with. Let you know.

Lol because they don't know it's time yet

Sounds like some decent sport. I have a perm here which is just for the crows / rooks around the farm buildings when they start turning up which should be any time about now.

It would be great to use the clay. What did you do with the yours? Just dig into it or did you puddle the clay? I tried a trial pit about 3 feet down and it would not hold water in the clay Once I get the plan clear and have a go I will keep you posted.

I want some of these bad days here. We JUST DONT HAVE THE PIGEONS or more likely I dont know how to find them. Numbers may be low but your field craft and knowledge gets you to a bag most would be happy with Nice if not great weekend well done.

I looked at the liner about £300 plus the protector layer. If I try with the clay I have to puddle it (tread it with water) how do I know if its worked? (I guess the water stays in).

No experience of those rounds. Until the other week I was limited to just winchester subs until I found another shop with a good choice. The point of the 40lb air is that its mv is around 1050 so shoots very similar to the lr. No not adjusted the trigger I was told to get used to it LOL. The kits for it are only a few quid but I wanted to get used to the rifle first before changing anything. As its the same clunkyness (is that a word?) every time then it should be ok but compared to the sweet release of the Daystate its painful if i swap from one to the other.

I was told that I could use the clay but for the sake of a few hundred quid dont want to get it wrong. I have a tap fed from a spring so was going to use that to fill it / top it up. Toying with the idea of making it deep enough to swim in with a 1m shelf all round and a beach at the end away from the excavated earth embankment, I have a chap building my car park at the min that will do the digging with his machine. I have looked at all of the sites listed but they don't cover the practicalities of maintaining it / keeping it clean. I dont want it to be just a green muddy hole in the ground. I have looked at the natural swimming ponds that look the sort of thing but I cant see how to calculate the level of filtration needed or if I can run this sensibly off solar.

Dont forget letting us see the finished product. I fancy a go myself now -
I am right with you on this but keep my sub 12 handy most times as round the garden and field here its my first choice. Even today putting up stock fence for new dog I had a squirrel off the feeder. If i am out to shoot I now prefer and rely on the 22lr. I have a 40lb air rifle too but as you say the lr is quieter and lighter so if I am going to a place with a bit of space (safe back drop and back stop) then out it comes even if the trigger is a bit more clunky (cz 455).

Didn't know that this. Thx for posting very helpful.

Its thumb and forefinger squeezing the soft part behind the wings on the back. Hold for a few seconds and Its done. I suspect it closes the lungs. This week I tried it also on a jackdaw and it worked there too (careful with the fingers if its a feisty one)

Excellent afternoon out. Far more fun than mine putting up stock fence I don't see many out in the day on my shoots?

Whilst on my latest trip I had plenty of opportunity to learn from those with much more experience than myself not hard as I have only been shooting shotgun for three years or so and tend to shoot with the same people quite often. First lesson was how to neatly dispatch pigeons by squeezing behind the wings far better than the riskier neck twist I had been doing. Second lesson was removing the forsight from my gun. Much to my initial consternation my hired gun did not have one. I was told to rely on the gun mount and forget the foresight. After trying it the difference it made to my shooting particularly when swapping from rifle was amazing. Back home and my Easyhit has been removed. Third is that my Hilux really will go pretty much place that I would likely ever need to go. Including crossing very steep banks and ditches.

Any trip to the seaside cannot be undertaken without bathers. At the very least you can make excuses as to why you cant take that icy plunge.

Might be worth a call to a broker as some companies will give you say 5 years if you have it already on another car. I put masai winndows in the back of mine and then the big insurance companies would not insure it.

Poor shooting or not a tidy bag a local farm company and warm weather makes for a great day out well done both.

I don't reload but here we don't use plastic wads anymore as they maybe a danger to livestock. Not sure that the standard fibre wads are any better?

I had to look it up to see what it was

Excellent video just like being there. If its not a daft question how do you know where to set up? o you just sit out and wait? What time of night do you start?

I have oak flooring throughout the house. When it went down it was stunning and every mark, scratch, dent, chip and shading difference stood out and I spent time trying to keep it like new. Then I decided I was fighting a loosing battle and all of the marks / changes are part of the patina of age and not something to worry about.

I want to put a pond into the orchard probably about 10m x 5m or so as a minimum. I would like it to be a wildlife pond my wife wants it to be picturesque. It needs to look wild but neat and tidy rather than a swampy hole, but i don't want it to look like a fish pond. The land is clay after about 30cm of top soil and I want to create a natural edge. I was thinking to put in a butyl liner and bury the edge under the top soil at about 30cm down will this work. How would i maintain the grass edge without all the clippings falling in? If I pump the water through a filter can I expect to keep it clean but still get that natural look to it? I do get a few ducks in the orchard should i discourage them if I want to keep it tidy or encourage them to make it look more natural. I would welcome any advice / ideas on what I need to think of.
