Beardo
Just driven around 6 farms this morning and not a pigeon in sight! Mixture of standing cereals, cereal stubble, fresh plough (beans, rape, cereal). Anyone seen any today?

Catamong
You obviously haven't been to Specsavers, laid wheat, just up the road from the GunShop, blue with pigeons, has been for the last couple of weeks. Cat.
al4x
most of the rape stubble our way has been disced up so not much feeding on it, last ones I had were full of rape and peas but as Cat says there will be laid stuff about that will be getting hit. Local to me they only cut their rape yesterday and that was heaving this morning so I reckon its luck of the draw whether your farms have anything to interest them
Beardo
i obviously need more farms to shoot!

UKPoacher
Mine had gone too! There was nothing about in the air and no large flocks on the ground. Yesterday I had 30+ on barley stubble, today barely managed double figures flighting them towards the deeks.
Cosd
Nick I'm not sure if it comes under your patch or closer to Cat's area but around the M1 Hemel junction, numbers have been hitting both standing crops and stubble for a few weeks now. In fact I wanted to call Cat one afternoon as I left work to give him the heads up on the numbers down there as it is just down the road from where me and him shot once, but I have lost his number as my sim card got wiped a few weeks ago. mossy835
i went out tonight and they were landing in standing beans, shot 7 of them so should be good when the beans are cut.i have 3 fields of beans on one farm.
anser2
Reasonable numbers about my part of N Norfolk , but too much food about and the birds are scattered and most days are not interested in decoying. I was out last Sunday 100s about , but only got 3. And they were full of beans. One of my farmers cut 2 rape fields yesterday, ( first to be cut for the past 2 weeks ) and not a pigeon on them lunch time today. I will have another look tommorow , but not that hopeful. proTOM1
Plenty my neck of the woods ,been around and about looking most of the day and seen 1000s had alook at some very old rape stubble and there was well over 200 on ,later looked at some wheat and old rape stubble else where and both were alive with birds . Just had 2 more wheat fields cut well 1 and a half then it rained again . Loads of young birds about now aswell good sign
UKPoacher
Now some of the stubble is being ploughed there is less choice and consequently pigeons are more concentrated. The biggest problem had today was keeping warm. I ended up wearing two coats, a scarf, hat and gloves and was still feeling chilly in the strong northerly wind. Must be getting nesh in my old age.
