dazza
Going up tomorrow morning with my dad for a half hour tour of the Ards peninsula and Stangford Lough. Not sure what to expect as I've never been in a helicopter before. Anybody ever been on one of these sort of things?

rimfire4969
Great fun, seems very strange at first after a plane.
Ozzy Fudd
its quite strange at first dazza but dont worry about it, youll love it. you dont feel turbulance, etc, as much in them as you do in a plane. just count yourself lucky its not an raf pilot putting a puma through its paces with you holding on for dear life in the jump seat

Northerner
I have used one pretty much everyday from mid march to mid july this summer. Ours was an AS350 that had been stripped out to increase the load capacity. It did get thrown around a few times when it got windy but the heavier stuff isn't affected as much by it. Just sit back and enjoy. It is great fun and keep an eye on the pilot just in case he gives you a cheeky smile before you end up nose down pointing at the ground
agusta
Will be a very good experience, hope you enjoy(ed) it Post some pics up if you can, I've flown numerous helicopters over to Ireland so may know it!
Dave-G
Enjoy it mate - try to get a simulated engine or tail drive failure from the cloud base too.
scolopax
I'll be on one in a few hours all being well, just the taxi from the rig to the shore but very welcome after a couple of weeks out here. The only thing with choppers though is that they are noisy, very nosiy compared to a plane. Conversely they are very easy to sleep in, usually within 10 minutes of lift off all 16 passengers will be fast asleep!

Supersonic
just count yourself lucky its not an raf pilot putting a puma through its paces with you holding on for dear life in the jump seat Did that too when stationed at RAF Odiham in the 80's, I think the pilot's name was Lex Brown. Also got to sit on the back ramp of a Chinook while flying over Salisbury Plain. AWESOME! Nige
