Traveling for shooting

25-30 minutes for my permission and about 10 minutes to the clay ground. Got an invite last November as a guest on a pheasant day just outside of Edinburgh which was about 2hrs 15mins. Thats the furthest i've travelled. Tbh if there is good shooting to be had i don't think i would mind travelling further although with the way petrol prices are now i'm not so sure .

Both of mine are within 10min drive.

Looking at the distance some travel I was wondering how you gain permissions that distance away?

the first permission I got is in theydon, got that from doing a rabbiting job/clearance for the railway station, its around 35 minutes away, so even though other permissions are on our doorstep, like to keep in touch with the further away ones

I think we will all cut this one down if we are traveling much at all, petrol is getting way to expensive year by year to justify the trips i used to do. Traveling further has to mean getting a few days in before heading home for me now and then you have accomodation to sort, mind you even thats still often cheaper than the fuel. The only answer has to be car sharing for me now for the one day shoots
