Will Poon
Hi , I shoot with both eyes open in a gun down position so as when a pair of clays are flying through the air it's easier to spot , that's the way I shoot but if it works for you stick with it Edited December 14, 2012 by Willpoon
twitchynik
I believe Carl Bloxham squints his left eye when shooting. Both eyes open to track, close/squint the left eye when about to shoot.
Essex Keeper
i wear a patch on my shooting glasses as im left eye dominates its geting better now some times i dont wear the patch after the first two three stands
TbirdX
I start with both open, gun up, pick up and track the target and close my left just before firing.
cumbrian shooter
So om not the only one thank god lol! All my mates shoot both eyes open so they thought it strange as i shoot as well as they do of not better shhhhh dont repeat that lol ha ha! i suppose both open to track helps judge distance better with humans having telescopic vision! thanks for those replies lads last thing i wanted was doubt in my head so im pleased im not an odd ball lol Edited December 14, 2012 by cumbrian shooter
mad1
I have to close my left eye but that's due to a detached retina I had years ago so I have problems with a clear line of sight when trying to focus on a object whilst looking down barrel with both eyes open :-(
Guest cookoff013
i have no eye dominance and can have upto 3 images presented or a mixture. i have to close my left eye or i`ll never ever see straight.

Lock Stock & Barrel
I believe Carl Bloxham squints his left eye when shooting. Both eyes open to track, close/squint the left eye when about to shoot. This is what I do - although I wouldn't be as daft or unrealistic as to class myself in Carl's league
eastlincs
Only had 1 lessons so far but fount out im left eye dominant and said my best bet is to just close my left eye or get a patch on my glasses over the left eye.
oscarsdad
I start with both open, gun up, pick up and track the target and close my left just before firing. Exactly how I shoot

buckaroo23
I have to keep my left eye closed, I've tried in vain to shoot with both eyes open with no success

Vince Green
Years ago I started wearing an eye patch and found it better. I was told to by an instructor.
Guest cookoff013
Exactly the same for me. the hardest part, is discovering i had no dominance, as right and left can take over. so every shot can see completely different. its easy now to ignore those telling me i can only shoot with both eyes open. welshwarrior
I have neutral eye dominance now so squint my left eye as I swing through the bird. I found it very hard having been right dominant for most of my life. I guess it means I could now shoot badly left handed as well as right. richg
Having coached a few people in my time including a few right hander's with a dominant left eye. Get a pair of clear shooting glasses and put a piece of sellotape on the left lens often this is just enough to make the right eye take over without obscuring your vision. HDAV
Only had 1 lessons so far but fount out im left eye dominant and said my best bet is to just close my left eye or get a patch on my glasses over the left eye. Or shoot left handed....... I am very left eye dominant and naturally right handed, but shoot left handed as I see the target much clearer this way
stumpy69
I also have neutral eye dominance. I close my left eye as I start to swing and pick up the bird, unusually? I have both eyes open when shooting with rifle and switch between the scope (right eye) and left eye for range finding etc.
Del T
I'm left eye dominant, right handed and a newbie clay shooting so I've no hope..I've put a bit of tape over the left lense.
