There Back At Last...

Well the pigeons have been few and far between in my neck of the woods since we had the snow early this year. I've managed bags of up to 30 with one 40 odd but nothing special, I've covered hundreds of miles and spent the same in diesel looking for the things. Today was the same as every weekend, up out looking for pigeons. I went to check the first farm as the pigeons had started showing an interest in the barley but nothing showed so I headed over to another farm I shoot. I drove down the track and noticed a few birds on some very backward spring rape. I watched for 20 mins and a strong flight line was coming in to the block of rape so I decided on the field and got set up. The birds were very spooky and I had to change the pattern several times before they committed properly. I packed up at 17.30 and the other half brought the dog down. The dog found most of the birds that dropped behind me in the thick plantation and I finished with 130 picked. It seems my luck has finally changed and the pigeons are back in town!

Cheers

Ben
