Sco77w
It cost £150 and they have offered me a tenner discount. There's a knock to the left front corner that has removed the paint and dinted it and 3 dints in the door. Am I being un reasonable telling them to give me a refund and fetch this one? r1steele
Faulty goods. You wouldn't expect to pay for a new car if it had paint missing and dents. It doesn't matter if it cost £1 or £10 000 it should be delivered as it was seen and bought so if they are being funny I would be reminding them of your consumer rights. It may sound petty as it's only a cabinet that no one will see but you paid for a new cabinet, you should get one that at least looks new. Dougy
Damaged goods... I would send it back asap pictures of the damage. Email to them telling them you require a full refund or more of a discount.

Lampwick
I had exactly the same on one of mine! 9 gun deep cabinet. Quick call got a £20 refund and some powder paint to touch it up! Still works as it should. I didn't mind the look its not an ornament! However if it annoys you get it sent back!

If it's damage to more than one side to it, then it really can't be blamed as a one off accident, but more continued careless handling. It should certainly be returned, make sure they give you postage costs, etc, as well.
neil82
tell them to collect it asap and either replace or full refund, sounds like poor handling by the courier, that's nothing to do with you let them and their insurers sort it out, you paid for a new cabinet, you should receive a new cabinet, if it now looks second hand then you pay second hand prices, 50-60% of new price sounds good
aris
What make safe? Was it delivered from the dealer or the manufacturer direct?
Sco77w
What make safe? Was it delivered from the dealer or the manufacturer direct? It was from a seller on eBay that seems to sell a few It came packed in a cardboard box with polystyrene packing so it must have had some hammer from the delivery driver. I've sent an email telling them to collect it and arrange for a refund.

JDog
Apart from the aesthetics of the cabinet the Firearms Officer who comes to inspect it may take a dim view of the damage.

countryman
I had one from g.d.k that had a small amount of damage, nothing like what you have, i decided not to say anything as it did not affect it in any way, i think the couriers were responsible for it. TIGHTCHOKE
I wonder if they're seconds from the maker that then get sold without mention of the damage.
JonathanL
The damage is irrelevant as far as sending it back goes as long it was a commercial sale, rather than a private seller. You can simply decide to return it for any reason, or no reason, within fourteen days. J.

Not strictly true with all goods as sellers don't have to refund for no reason or if you change your mind in a face to face sale but right for your purpose Check out the distance selling regulations which are in force for this transaction

J. 7 days for distance selling regs and at buyers cost + fees ( restocking fee etc) shipping won't be cheap so using distance selling is the wrong legislation, in my hble opinion
