strangford wildfowler
Karcher ones are great especially for cleaning the driveway and decking. Cant go wrong with them.
bear-uk
Nilfisk are a good industrial name that make domestic equipment as well. I got mine from Amazon on offer and well pleased with it.

bullet1747
I've just got the karcher and the 100 foot x hose very good on both
Wiltsmark
I've had two karcher ones, both been rubbish, after a while they start "pulsing" as karcher calls it themselves, apparenetely it can be the wand blocked or the seals inside gone. But like Team tractor says the spares are ready available as there is a demand for them. Edited May 5, 2014 by Wiltsmark
Paddy Galore!
will the Nilfisk units run off a water butt?
clakk
yes the nilfisk will gerni and nilfisk are the same make/factory supplier.karchers seals are set at lasting 100 hours use dont sound a lot but its probably 125 /150 sundays car washing for most by then your warrentys up clever arent they.but its all replacable o ring seals in there .the green bosch are dogs dangles if u got a good one.ive had a good 12 years n a poooh 6 months luck of the draw im afraid used to sell gerni/nilfisk and karcher so gooooood luck gents theres no hard n fast rule with em
aris
Karcher 100% as you can get spares when it breaks and it will :( +1 Good spares availability. They go wrong when stored in very cold conditions (frost). Had mine for about 12 years - still going. Lots of attachments available too. Did the driveway a few days go - looks like new. Most will work off a water butt as they draw water in rather thn rely on pressure from the mains.
HDAV
I did hear that the Aldi ones were good and rebranded karcher
daz2202
A cheap £30 job from aldi or Argos and replace it when it goes wrong. You will prob still get 5 years out of a cheapy. Just don't bother repairing, just replace.
39TDS
Bought a cheap Nilfisk a few years back from Machine Mart I think. Used on a farm washing anything and everything and can not fault it. Think it cost £60. Will have another if this one breaks. Only thing I don't like is that if you forget to turn it off but remember to turn water off it will run. Make sure you turn them off. Medic1281
I'll keep an eye on this thread because I'm also in the market for a pressure washer. I was always put off from karcher after their rep told me that their commercial stuff was great but their domestic stuff was just cheap rubbish. I worked in a hire shop at the time so don't know if he was just trying to flog us some commercial washers or if he was being genuine. Paddy Galore!
the only thing that concerns me about running them off a water butt is bits of gunk blocking the pipes, stuff the water meter I think i'll put in an outside tap, builders equipment have some good offers on stihl stuff all the time so I might hang on for a while.
