birdsallpl
Please enlighten me. I reckon it will be a short list! Please enlighten me. Hi Tightchoke. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not inclined to stand up for any politicians whatever persuasion, the point I was trying to make is that we wouldn't trade places with them for all their wealth. To lead a life like they have chosen deserves a bit of acknowledgement from us for making the effort. I'm sure there may be few local councillors on this forum and who knows maybe some MPs. At least they are making an effort. I think for us to moan and groan about individuals and events in retrospect is the wrong way around. Remember he was voted in for 3 terms by us, so we must have thought something was right. I have put the link on for Blair below which gives an idea of some of the good things he achieved. And as I said these are what he will be remembered for. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premiership_of_Tony_Blair
Reece
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/jun/15/tony-blair-iraq-essay Favourite quote from Blair - "we have to liberate ourselves from the notion that 'we' have caused this." He has a point there though. We shouldn't blame ourselves for the situation in Iraq. Because "we" didn't cause it, he did.
Azzurri
Why is he not in jail ? After all he is a convicted war criminal , sentenced in absence after his and Clintons bombing in Serbia I hate the ******, saw straight through the lying **** years ago...but I missed the bit about him getting sentenced in his absence, who passed sentence on him and why wasn't his sentence carried out ? Genuine question by the way. Azzurri.
spanj
I'm sick of the insinuations regarding his sexuality due mainly to the late (and great) Humphrey Littleton. I dint think the troubles in the middle east can be blamed on a slightly camp diminutive tap dancer either. No, its deffo the fault of the EA

I have great respect for the lower rank politicians that you mention, they do give a lot of their time for very little recompense. But BLIAR is a ****! ditchman
Blair a socialist! Humbug he was only there for himself and his ugly woman, somehow he managed to make himself worth £13 million thanks to the British voting public. A very clever, dangerous man to fool most of the people most of the time. Blackpowder £13 million.....you are a bit behind the times......just his property portfolio is worth more than that......he gets a "million a year just for promoting Tesco....when he was in Israel a year or so ago on a "peace " mission...he nearly got chucked out, cause he was spending more time on setting up a Tesco deal than a hammas Israel deal !!!....not bad for somebody when they moved into downing street they had a 50% mortgage !!! ( he is also the financial advisor for one of the oil countries )...and i wouldnt do that for peanuts !...the list goes on .......
Kes
Kes. ' He's now wealthy enough to stand apart and 'admire' from a distance.' You are right he is, but forget the moral standpoint and his standards, would you swap your life for his? I wouldn't for 10 times his wealth. What he has done for his country, good and bad has left him in a very vulnerable place and needing permanent protection, what a way to lead the rest of your life. Only history in 50 years time will truly judge him. I suspect he will be remembered for only the good things he did. It was Shakespeare who said " the evil that men do lives after them - the good is oft interred with their bones" in this case a fitting epitaph and you are right about his money, not for what he has to carry round and self examine. Humph, was the man, who can forget Samantha's preference for Brewsters tongue in cider, or stunt kite flying in the Kentish countryside, however the dancing poof is not without blame. Sorry to be dense, but who is the twinkle-toed tail-lifter referred to? There were so many such people around in the New Labour years when being vibrant was compulsory that I've lost track.
