I am now not sure I am pleased by the result. Very disappointed, even angry, the bill will be unaffordable and for only one part of the UK.

I think Salmond's job should have been on the line like many in the UK as a whole would have been.

He 'accepts' the decision, arrogant, self-promoting pest. I never want to see his bloated overweening face again. There will be a backlash and I will be part of it sadly, mainly as a consequence of the ungrateful nature of the campaign - If I can be grateful we live in a stable democracy, why cant the ******** Scots.

Now lets have an English, Welsh and Northern Irish vote on powers for Scotland - I hope they include a choice over future jobs for Salmond and his cronies - cleaning the streets of Edinburgh. That will give them pride oin doing a good job for Scotland.

Very interesting debate which leaves me feeling for my fellow UK citizens and irreconcilably angry with pride the minority of Scots have sucked out of the UK and the poorly concealed hatred for the English. I want some **** as the Yanks say, and I want it NOW and I want it BIG.

Oh well!

Do we now have to endure months and years of bleating from the "yes" voters?

How much has this cost us all?

I note Glasgow is already moaning "they didn't vote for it"

By the way Cammoron has just said he's a "Democrat" and he listens! Well listen up buddy there's a few miffed English, Welsh and Northern Irish out here!

Agreed ...... Lets see more off our wealth spread around the Country not just used in London.

Dread to think what this shambles cost us. It will be very sad to see so little of King Alex in future as he hides away in his little hole in the ground - not! Going to start a petition to get home rule for Norfolk - who is with me on this?

You'll have an uphill struggle getting folk to put a cross on the ballot, that's proper joined up writing and everything that is...

I would wager that he never said:-

because he didn't say it. As for the other, I doubt you are in possession of all the facts - Police records etc.

You are exaggerating and jumping to daft conclusions.

Just let it go.

So I can prove the mates case easily ,it shows exactly what he has, refusal letter ,he has BASIC letters ,he has copy of BASIC acting for him, he now has new ticket, , now put your money where your mouth is ,shall we say 1k between us and 1k donated to BASC ,lodge the money with your solicitor and I will send him proof of my mates case ,so forward by pm your solicitors email and make shure you honour your wager ,if you take it .I do not welch on my bets ,ask my bookie or would you like proof of that too ,so put up or you let it go

Good old Nigel!

He's just set the cat amongst the pigeons!

They don't like it up um!!! :)

I thought he spoke a lot of sense, as usual.

If Douglas Carswell wins the Clacton by election on 9th October (I think he's about 32 points ahead at the moment) and becomes the first UKIP mp Camerons position is going to become more and more fragile.

I voted conservative last time round thinking Cameron was going to be a good strong leader. How wrong I was. He's such a weak man.

This whole Sottish debacle has shown him up for exactly what he is.

Watched a couple of hours of BBC coverage this morning. Wish I had a quid for every time they said "the three main parties". The BBC don't seem to have noticed that the Liberals are just about extinct.

possibly refering to up here tbh. Snp cons and labour.

very pleased with the result as i keep my job. I can see changes for the better throught the uk. There is a massive political void imo in scotland.

Labour and the cons have been losing voters for years and the snp have a very strong hold on the country, time for a stong challenger to the snp but which party will grab the bull by the horns??

Well done Scotland!!!!!!!!

I'm made up that we are all staying in the big bed.

Together we stand.

Well done Britain! Pleased with the outcome.

Altjough I don't think standing in bed is the done thing on either side of the border, laying down is more comfy - especially if England is on top and Scotland is covered in oil.

I may have pushed that analogy too far.

I have been listening to what has been said in the aftermath (to me vitally important) Cameron may be concealing what the effect will be and suggestions to answer the 'West Lothian question' but in no detail and does not mention the possibility of a vote.

Nigel Farage on the other hand - seemingly a bit of a no hoper and not from 'one of the three main parties', encapsulated, in a non-jingoistic way what very many English, Welsh and NI ish must be thinking - whats so special about Scotland that we get no voice !

He suggested a very sensible solution and clearly was 'in touch' with the way the English (etc) must be thinking.

For those Scots who voted 'NO' you are welcome within 'our' family and I have no beef with you, just respect. For those who voted 'YES' I will find it hard, as an Englishman to want you to stay in the Union, have any voice in politics south of the border, or care about the selfish nature of your cause. There's no pride lost for anyone who chooses to remain 'loyal' to the old ideal.

The remainder are unwelcome, my views and sympathies are changed.

I'm buying an English flag, a big one so any Scots who drive within 5 miles of my house know I'm happy with Britain but essentially English.

I think it should be mandatory that if you want to vote on UK matters you display a Union flag and a bigger flag of your country. Pity the Union minded Scots if their voice at Westminster is diminshed by comrade Alex, maybe a change in Scotlands internal politics is necessary too.

graiglearn - I assume you can read, but you seem selective in what you read - only the bits you like. Reminds me of Alex Salmond.

Just publish the bit about the Chief Constable, relating to city dwellers and noise. I look forward to seeing proof of what someone has not said.
