JDog
Whatever it is have you noticed that it has two normal feet and a crippled one on which the claws face upwards? Edited August 3, 2015 by JDog
sundaybain
i noticed that JDog but thought because of the shape of rest on the feeder he could not get a proper grip ?
islandgun
Whatever it is have you noticed that it has two normal feet and a crippled one on which the claws face upwards? As an aside my old dad used to get a blue tit on his bird table that's beak had grown so long that it curled over, i trapped it and trimmed the beak with some nail clippers

ayrshiretaxidermy
Whatever it is have you noticed that it has two normal feet and a crippled one on which the claws face upwards? I see 2 legs, a left one gripping the rim of the feeder and a right one gripped round a bit of wire "perch" with the rear toe curled round. sundaybain
He was on and off in a flash,i know they are more used to climbing up and down tree trunks,so hopefully he just landed all wrong on the "perch" i don't make them. My first post was a deliberate mistake but I am not as brave as you are to jump from Paridae to Laridae.

old man
The unusual toe configuration confirms Nuthatch. It's unusual foot shape allows it to grip vertical tree trunks in all directions.
