Lloyd90
Sorry, can't agree with that. However, it's your choice. Edited to say that normally I agree with most things you say. From recent experience ( not on this site ) but the people who genuinely need help are the ones who are too embarrassed to ask! A woman phoned up yesterday abusing a colleague shouting she's entitled to a voucher for a food bank for her Christmas dinner, she's skint cos she just spent all her benefits in a new leather sofa!! Made me wonder what's the point for a moment!
Vince Green
Sorry, can't agree with that. However, it's your choice. Edited to say that normally I agree with most things you say. I think I need to explain that my ex wife worked as a volunteer at our local food bank for a while. An experience which has soured my view of them permanently. Made me wonder what's the point for a moment! Agreed that those in the most need won't ask. I'd tell her to eat the bloody sofa. Vince, point taken. Yorkshire pudding? No thanks, not with Turkey but essential with lamb & beef. Sweetcorn, no thanks. Corn on the cob should only be eaten barbequed, oh roll on summer! But I do like baked beans with roast lamb. Daughter & I will be maxing out on the home made bread sauce!
lord_seagrave
A goose and a ham, and Brussels sprouts. Mash AND roasties, roast parsnips, a huge pile of buttery mashed swede, shredded Savoy cabbage and lashing of gravy. I will make some bread sauce, but I won't have any myself - vile stuff. Paddy Galore!
I didn't realise that rib of beef was so popular. I almost feel common now... Yorkshires are a must with beef in my opinion, along with roasties and mash

Yorkshires are a must with beef in my opinion, along with roasties and mash I used to have a set hanging in the fridge at work every year for Christmas. I would pick them from the nicest fore 1/4 about the 2nd or 3rd week in November they'd be there till Christmas eve. Then get them home and in the oven nice slow roast over night. Lord Geordie
Knives and forks maybe even a table cloth! Depends on how posh I feel on the day. As for the food? Maybe corned beef pasties, with chips and beans this year I won't have the time to muck about this year.

Yorkshires are a must with beef in my opinion, along with roasties and mash I only cooked my first the other week as I saw pics on another site. Beautiful meal but not something I would want regularly as its just a bit fatty. I did save a jar of the dripping though which was amazing to roast veg in

Beautiful meal but not something I would want regularly as its just a bit fatty. I did save a jar of the dripping though which was amazing to roast veg in I would certainly have to have roast taters and roast parsnips, they would all end up round the joint while it was cooking, basted regularly getting them nice and crispy. and caramelised parsnips Mmmmmm Oh and some nice gravy made in the roasting tin. Not that bloomin gravy granule stuff. Indecently where is the gravy
