Lloyd90
I want to change my bank accounts around and in order to get the best deal I need to have at least 2 direct debits coming out of the old account. Although it's only for a small amount of a couple £ a month, I would like to set up the direct debits to a decent charity. I have set one up for Barnardos. I know first hand of a lot of good work they do to stop children being exploited and genuinely do see the money put to good use. Now I need another one. Any recommendations appreciated! Can we please not descent into a charity bashing thread, I know some are bordering on corrupt etc but I'm sure there are atleast some good ones out there, let's try to focus on them please. Lloyd90
PigeonWatch's very own chosen charity Orchid What do they do? I have just signed up to the Nuffield Trust, as I was considering a lot of the research I have been reading and they fund a lot of very important studies to help children who really need it but are often not on the radar. Lloyd90
Jolly good! They are PW's favoured charity Unfortunately I am on their "donate now" page and it appears to be a one off payment. I did want to set up a direct debit for a monthly payment. yod dropper
Have a look at CALM or similar to help tackle the biggest killer of men under 45 though the true figures are even worse as many deaths cannot legally be recorded as suicide. Look through your local paper and see the number of men who drive into trees or similar, these will often not appear in the statistics.
