As they endorse the brand of car I deal with, I see their grinning mugs everyday as we have a couple of larger than life cut outs of them in the showroom.

I've not had a tv for years, I find the drivel they, and every other "entertainer" and "presenter" spout, nauseating.

Each to their own, if others enjoy watching them and the tv company are stupid enough to pay them, fair play.

Tax man will love them but for me no talent only the gift of the gab. Shame we do not pay nurses, doctors etc etc much more. They save lives.

Don't know why people always make those comparisons.

There's loads of people on the country capable of training to be a nurse or doctor, thousands do it every year.

There's only one Ant and Dec, and the people who pay them (who aren't us) are willing to pay that price for what they bring!

Supply and demand. If you could bring in the money they do, you could ask for the money they get.

All that money must be getting to Ant.

Ant McPartlin, one half of Ant and Dec, has revealed he is heading to rehab after admitting he is battling alcohol and drug addiction.

That's unfair. There are plenty of people with absolutely nothing who have these life events.

Yes and not everyone can afford to book themselves into a private clinic. I wonder did he inform ITV of his issues before or after negotiating a 30 million pound contract.

Your born, you live your life and you die!.........we're all the same when we enter this world were all the same when we leave it.......... Envy has no part to play! If wealth comes my way? Great..........if not, as long as I have my health and the happiness I have in my life.......I have lost nothing!

For those of you who like abit of a kick at the establishment, tune into Frank Zappa's " I am the Slime" and listen to the words . Sorry I can't do a link but it just shows how this record was so true 40 years ago and still is..... from Auntie.

I would rather be rich and healthy than skint and healthy. When you are skint and need treatment you could be waiting a year, if you are rich you will get seen privately by the best to the next day, so being rich can help you stay healthy.

That rather states the obvious.......The real question is, if you had to choose, would you rather be skint and healthy or rich and Ill?

And private will be quicker but it ain't "the best" you will be seen/treated by the same Consultants that work in the NHS! And if during or after your surgery at a private clinic you fall dangerously ill you will undoutedly be transferred to a NHS hospital for critical care/life saving treatment as most private clinics do not have the capability/facilities!

That would depend on what you call ill, i would choose rich and not ill you can have both. As for private if you are rich you can pick and chose the best in whatever field no matter what country they are in, so not necessarily a NHS consultant. But even in the NHS some are better than others if you have the money you can choose the best.

You would pay for one that does have all the facilities then. Hopefully he will get the help he needs, i just wonder if people would be as sympathetic if he was someone with a drink and drug problem living on a council estate.

Why should he and how do you know he's not?

This is a simple case of hating anyone with more wealth than themselves.

He can afford it, so in your eternal communist view, **** should he do?

Use the NHS? You'd love that, imagine the attacks then, millionaire uses NHS for treatment he could afford himself?

I don't that's why i posted, I wonder did he inform ITV.

I don't hate either of them, you have to admire them for working hard to get were they are that doesn't mean i have to like them or the shows they are on, they both irritate me mostly due to overexposure nothing to do with the money they have.

That ain't what I asked is it? I asked "if you had to choose"?

And how will you know the best from all the specialist consultants in a given field?

How will you know which consultant is the "best" no matter what country they are in?

We were comparing Consultants in the NHS to Consultants offering private treatment in the U.K.... So likely to be the same consultant!

Yep some are better than others but picking one reputed to be the best......does not mean things can't go wrong!

You would pay for one that does have all the facilities then.

How would you know whether you would need critical care facilities if the surgical procedure was "run of the mill"?....why would you choose a private hospital that had these critical care facilities? no one would expect things to go wrong....

I would go somewhere like the one bellow, money gives you options, i would rather have the option if others would rather wait a year on a NHS waiting list thats up to them. PS, Saying he had the money to book himself in was a obsession not a criticism.
