Celebrities and MPs at tragedies

In fairness to Adele, she seemed to be just comforting those affected, whereas Lily Allen seems to think she has something to say which must be heard.

Lily Allen had a film crew with her apparently, For heaven sake! I think that tells you everything you need to know about her motives

Just for the record Jeremy Corbyn is NOT the local MP. He is the MP for Islington North (Think Arsenal Stadium) the fire happened in North Kensington (think QPR Stadium)

I did cpr on an 11yr old yesterday that had been hit by a Range Rover. I keep thinking about it, and wondering what else could we have done. Yes it's playing on my mind. Yes it's a traumatising situation no matter what training you've got. To say that people shouldn't be traumatised by such events is complete ********!!

This story is in the Daily Mail. 77 yr old behind the wheel, done for DD?

Ypu have my utmost respect.

That's the one. Thank you.

I didn't post for attention seeking, but training can't prepare people properly for all situations. The responders are human, with feelings and families.

I don't understand why they are protesting to get May out ???

She didn't start the fire or take out the building contract.

They understandably want answers, they want those responsible held to account, but it is far too early to have the answers or identify anyone responsible.......But emotionally they have to focus on someone to blame!..........that combined with left wing agitators stirring up anti government, anti May emotions amongst those affected.....if not properly managed, there could be a real risk of riot and civil unrest!

Don't forget the version of events is what the media want you to have, they are all extremely biased in their reporting.

If Joe Bloggs goes down their and comforts someone in distress they focus on tears rolling down cheeks and how sensitive they all are to each other. Adele turns up to do the same thing and she is publicity seeking.

The media in this country behaves disgracefully, they don't simply report the news they try very hard to create it and are almost gleeful when a tragedy such as this occurs.

My thoughts are very much with the victims and the survivors.

I would include the media in the comment I made in posting #33

Keep an eye out for the political agitators. The Socialist Workers Party placards are generally easy to spot. They blame everything on the Tories. Once you are tuned in you will see them all over, some may remember seeing them during the Junior Doctors' strike. There are also other hard left groups involved as well.

PTS is about changes that take place in the brain as a response to fear (basically) although fear has many forms and manifests itself in many ways.

It cannot be prepared for or prevented by training because the brain is actually doing what nature intended it to do. When you go for therapy that's the first thing they tell you. You are not going mad, its a totally normal reaction.

I did notice on the news that all the protestors had placards, I thought at the time, they didn't just appear out of thin air. They are starting to wind up the 'community' now demanding compensation, subtle but predictable agitation

Isn't Corbyn the local MP ? If so he should be there anyway. What did make me hold my breath was the report that Emergency Service staff had been heavily traumatised by the incident. Now if they have then they should not be in the job. Been there done that, peeled roasted bodies from the seat frames of cars, had a beautiful young 18yr old girl die on my shoulder as I tried to support her and then had to go and inform her parents. Was told to go and prepare a dead body in the hospital morgue for the Coroner and do the paperwork only to find an 8yr old on the slab been hit by a car. Deeply saddened yes, but traumatised, no, because I had been trained to expect worse than this when I joined.

Isn't being traumatised an emotive response to a bad experience? Like PTSD?

I don't believe a person can be "trained" to not have feelings, and not respond emotionally to a bad experience! (temporarily hardened to it maybe, through continual exposure?) I do believe that no matter how "ard" someone claims to be, no matter how much they try to hide their emotional response, they will eventually crumble and cry like a baby in response to something bad they have experienced!

I know you didn't, and didn't come across that way at all, just happened to be flicking through their online site, saw it and put 2 and 2 together.

You'll see the party name on their placards (normally at the top) and I believe they've been recruiting, the Socialist party have been out with theirs as well; they've all thrown their weight behind Corbyn. Just watch footage of any protest and they'll be there. I pointed this out to my brother who works at the council, there was some sort of action that he passed on a daily basis then noticed the SWP placards after I suggested they were probably there. During the Doctors' strike, sometimes half of the protesters were SWP placard carriers.

There is very prevelent undertone towards the left in a lot of the media. On the run up to the election and since not only on the beeb. But channel 4 and a lot of media entertainment types drop in there comments.

The main thing now should be sorting the unfortunate people who have had their live ruined by this Accident. And if anyone thinks that anyone wanted this to happen then that I think is a problem in their psychi.

Saw some photos of the protest - the protesters seemed well prepared with placards and even T-shirts - with Grenfell Towers logos.

They obviously took time off grieving to get their act together.

Some might be genuine, but I can't help thinking that many were just a mob waiting for the next cause. John McDonnell has shown his true colours - can he spell democracy?

Mcdonell is just amazing, the hard working boys in blue are busy trying to keep us safe, and **** for brains wants a million protesters to take to the streets.

All that will happen is the police will be taken away from important duties just to be assaulted and abused by ungrateful yobs.

The criticism of May was totally unfair. I gather she was asked to keep away basically to ensure unnecessary police resources not used protecting her so she did next best thing and met with emergency services to see what government could do. We and no doubt May too, are all devastated by what happened but the rabble stirring up trouble for anyone who is in authority should be locked up. We do not need that now and it will not get Commie Jezza and his lot into government. But going back to the post yes, keep all celebs and MPs away from this. Queenies visit gave people a lift - this should be it and expend all other time and money on the clear up and recovery.
