Hendrix's rifle
Just like music, theres nothing really new, the same three chords have been sold over and over. Its the same with cars IMHO the 'Mini,' Beetle, Cinquecento, and the Mustang (do like the v8 though) I'm waiting for Ford UK to update the Mk2 Zodiac, now that would sell! Or for GM to do the 59 Impala! Heaven! Keep It in your pants fella getting a bit excited
impala59
Roger that!! Even heard VW are bringing back the Microbus, and there's Porsche of course, so lazy with design they couldn't bring back the 911, its never gone away!
four-wheel-drive
Well I am biased, but I would scrap them all as I consider them to be hideous abominations not worthy of the mini name! I have to admit I do quite like the look of them but they should not have called them minis they are compact BMWs and should be sold as such. MrM
Wife had one of the Mini Countryman's - didn't have any issues mechanically wise, but the thing was horrid to go in for any length of journey. Rough ride, horrid hard plastics everywhere, not a nice car. She's now got a BMW 1 series - so much better !

The rocker cover "coating" came away from the inside of the cover and contaminated the oil!

Davyo
It was quite funny when Sue went to test drive one.The salesman got in and Sue got out, didn't even bother putting the key in the ignition."can't be doing with that big round thing in the middle of the dash"she said. I have to say I do like having all of the spedo in the center of the dash my 2003 X-trail had then in the middle and once you get used to it I find it better than having to look through the steering wheel lots of cars used to have it that way. AVB
We had a countryman for four years (63 plate). The wife loved it, plenty of space. Never missed a beat. However as it was an auto it was a bit sluggish. I understand that the newer engines/gearboxes are better. Replaced it with an Audi A1. Ok, nice engine and gearbox. Not as practical as the Mini. And unreliable. Been off the road for two weeks with broken aircon!

JohnfromUK
Bmws engines are believe it or not, ****! Unreliable, very much so. Some are worse than others. To give you an idea, for the 1800 petrol and 2 litre diesels my local bmw don't stock knock sensors or mafs but do keep 3 spare engines.... 2006-2012 I think the engine was. Cam chains añd tensioner made of chocolate. Injectors are also very common on them. Wouldn't touch one with a barge pole, just a shame I have to work on them +1 +1 My present BMW (335D) has had more faults than all my other cars on 40 years motoring put together (but it is great to drive, fast and economical). Engine, brakes, lights ...... I have owned many British Leyland cars (inc true Mini), Fiats, even LandRover - all more reliable. Wouldn't go for a mini as the interior is plain HORRIBLE to me. All styling, no taste.

oowee
My wife had a cooper diesel. 50+ mpg nippy and well made. Got rid of it because she kept loosing the valence on the country roads (that was her excuse). Good whilst it lasted unless you want to get anything in it. How people managed with the original i don't know.
norfolk dumpling
Wife is on her 5th new mini - all different models - and has had very very few issues. Current one is the Countryman All4 S and it goes like the stink. Lovely handling and looks good too. My employer does a lot of courtesy car work for Bmw/Mini, VW/Audi, JLR, Volvo and a few others and the ones with most problems are JLR (Disc Sport especially) and nearly every Volvo model. I think the sheer number of Minis about is a testimony to their appeal and reliability!
