oldypigeonpopper
hello, if you look back on PW there was a post on cartridges of the past, in the 1970s we bought cheapies
guzzicat
And, if you used them in an auto, you got widely scattered fired cases

Hamster
Loud and thumpy but threw nice even patterns and broke millions of clays and killed even more pigeon.
lancer425
I remember them well , those in the red cases and S&B mark 2 paper cases were the cheapo cartridges of the day back then. I would buy them if they came back on the market again was sad to see them go.
Guest stevo
I still have a slab of baikal Rekord. And a couple of boxes of baikal water foul in size 3 (lead ) theses are the old snap in half boxes.
Robertt
I think S & B are still available. I bought some 32g 6's last year but I cant recall how much they were. In an O/U the recoil was acceptable and they were great on woodies. Shooting Baikels is a unforgettable experience that every shooter should try , especially in low light. The sheet of flame and the clap of doom is tremendous.
Lord v
Depending on which calculators you use that's £180ish in todays money. About the same as the bin ends at Justcarts, and not far of the full price of Lyalvale.
Westley
I was running the 'Works' clay club back then and we bought Baikal and S & B cartridges 5000 at a time. We got them direct from the Importer and collected them ourselves. The packing cases they came in were superb, I still have a few in my loft, full of junk ! Bluebarrels
Talking about cheapo carts I bought some about 8 years back for £99 per thousand, shot well. They were made by MAGTECH,who I believe make more rifle ammo than carts, anyone else used these carts?
