TIGHTCHOKE
One of the Chanel 4 commentators whilst commentating on the Mens Super-Combined Skiing actually stated "it was like there was a sniper in the woods" when a competitor fell on the downhill run! Extremely poor taste and a completely unnecessary remark, shame he hadn't engaged his brain before his mouth.
figgy
To be fair if the skier fell like they had been shot i don't see a problem with the comment abled or disabled. i don't think it sounds derogatory but i didn't see the event or listened to the commentator. Seadog1408
Just a humerous remark about the fall, not seriously suggesting the skier had been shot. Not derogatory to the shooting population at all IMO. much ado about nothing.

Not worried about it being derogatory to shooters, these are Para Olympians a fare few of which are ex-Military and even some that have been injured whilst at war. Gordon R
Got to agree with TIGHTCHOKE - I have heard the commentator say the same at a football match - more applicable, but when the disability element is added - not quite so funny and in questionable taste. Newbie to this
Got to agree as well, very poor taste. I can understand using the analogy when someone takes a dive, but when someone genuinely falls (worst still when disabled) it's just a cheap shot (no pun intended) aimed at getting a laugh. 12gauge82
Over sensitive in my opinion, I haven't seen it, but I'm sure the commentator didn't mean anything negative and would have said the same if it'd been an able bodied competition. das
No need for it really, a stupid comment made by an underworked, undertalented TV reporter.

ClemFandango
Personally I can't see why that is offensive to anyone.
