Correct me if I'm  wrong.

Is this about side x sides we own and love, and use or the history of side by sides from the year dot.

I.e flintlocks, pinfires etc, etc.

Surely really old stuff should be designated into different place.

The essence of the thread shoul surely be a out semi modern guns we can use today.

Side by side club.

I think the focus should be working guns , used on a regular basis.

Nice as as they are I have no interest in old  obsolete S x S 's which should be in a different  catogary.

152 years old,but not obsolete !!!

Still doing what Mr Horsley made it for.............

Wow Feltwad, that's got to be unique. Can you still obtain any pin fire cartridges ?

Anything that is Side by Side, any age and any gauge !

Totally agree. Who's to say that Feltwad doesn't use his Jefferies pin fire on a regular basis. Even used occasionally, still makes it a workable gun. The more unusual the better I say.

What a beautiful gun. As said, bar in wood. They don't come any better. The pleasure derived from shooting that I'm sure is immeasurable. Unusual lift up top lever also. Love it.

Thanks for including it to the already increasing photos of lovely guns on this thread.

Its a bit worn now, but still no major blemishes, have you a photo of your Midland and 10 bore Penelope ?

I don't but can do. I shall be getting my dad to put a Silvers pad on the 10 and on the AYA No.3 magnum I recently purchased. He'll be doing something with the stocks and forends (beavertail) too, over the summer.

The Midland is the bottom one, halfway through the pad fitting and prior to the oil finish.

The top one is a D.H. Wallas.

Your Wild looks very similar to mine page 4,  anymore info

Not really, bought from auction in January of this year.   12 Bore, non-ejector, as basic as they come.  I know that when the apocalypse comes, everything but cockroaches and my boxlock will cease to function.

I hope that while busy posting here, no one misses the ONE TO BUY. SbS shooting pigeon shooters especially from a hide really need this piece of history. I have permission to get it but remain unsure. Going to see how the step-son feels.

Well I'm blowed someone went and bought it!
