tonyshooter
I have just been given a 12ga 3" Mag Hatsan escort semi auto shotgun and I am occasionally experiencing it not cycling the rounds. I am using 32g cartridges. An empty is not getting fully ejected. The fired cartridge remains part ejected / lodged in the action at 90 degrees to the barrel. Any help in rectifying this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Tony

Oil turns into a horrid grindy paste mess. It says to run dry but I just cant do that.
deny essex
used to run mine dry apart from trigger pivots for 8 years , no problems till the gas ports near burnt through the mag tube then it went bye byes
mossy835
as above clean gas ports, and 70 mm carts
TIGHTCHOKE
I made up a long drill bit handle and use it to keep the gas ports clean and use Teflon lube very lightly on the moving parts of the piston and rings.
Guest
Do you use 70mm carts .i had the same trouble with a webley 820 not recycling.would only recycle 70mm
the big shot
Make sure the O ring in front of piston is in good condition. Clean out the two gas ports I use a pipe cleaner and only use 70mm cartridges.
The Heron
I have written at length on here about this problem but I found that Hull cartridges will not cycle in a semi-auto.
Farmboy91
I've not had any problems at all with super fast pigeon though the A303. Ive a mate who has a hatsan which wouldn't cycle 32g fiocchi sporting pigeon properly these are in the 67mm case, again something the beretta will do no problem. Think it's more down to the hatsan than anything else. Luck of the draw with the gun maybe?

Check the cleaning and oiling as well if that doesn't work. Best option is dump it.

Longstrider
My Hatsan Escort doesn't like Hull cartridges either. Superfast Pigeon tend to get 'dropped' by the extractor and left loose in the breech area. Almost any other 70mm cartridge with a good clean rim on the base will cycle just fine. Perhaps the Hulls have a slightly more rounded edge to the cartridge rim ?? Doesn't seem to matter how filthy the guts of the gun are if I use something like NSI Sipe 32g #6's, it just kills things and spits the empties a country mile all day When I do strip and clean it, I leave the workings bone dry as per instructions when I bought it new, but it's always gone against the grain to do so. I use graphite powder as work so will try a little of that in there from now on. Good tip

gotgcoalman
Iv'e got a 10 year old hatsan auto that'll cycle 76/70/67/65mm from 50g down to 24g. Strip it and check it hasn't got it's own eco system in the trigger group/ejector/gas ports.
Saltings
depending on mechanism cartridge length is important 70mm min a lot of shells are stamped 70mm and are 65 and 67mm which can cause problems check overall length of shell when fired what's printed on the case just means safe in 70mm chambers other than that an adjustments to spring tension piston or stand hard and don't let your body absorb the recoil an issue my son used to have as he was 6"3 and 9 stone once he stood solid no problems there after also check oil usage when colder certain oils thicken or get waxy edds red is a great alternative especially in harsh conditions Edited September 18, 2018 by Saltings
