Yeah - was surprised.  I'm not massively into cooking myself but admired the infectious passion Gary communicated - a sad loss, 59 is waaay to young.

Shame it won't be all happening in the pan anymore. Great advocate of Tate and lyle sugar in his puddings.

Used to run a lot and keep fit, wonder if we ever find out what took him.

The Evening Standard mentions a fall in his restaurant kitchen.

A very sad loss, used to love his programmes.

Gary died of a subdural hematoma following a collapse at home after dinner.
