WalkedUp
I opened my eyes at 6am this morning and through the bleary glaze could just make out the movement of a grey skipping over our stile and into the garden from the peas. S410 out and I had it in the cross hairs, but with an audience of three young boys no clean shot was on.... we waited silently for a few minutes with my sons watching intently at my side. Eventually it sat up on a branch in the oak and stopped for long enough that I was able to slip the shot away. My oldest son (5) cheered me with a “good shot daddy”, then explained to the middle brother (3) that the squirrel was dead but had the “wriglets” (death spasms). He also told his baby brother (1), who had been chatting away nonsensically during the wait, that he needs to learn to “be patient like daddy” 🥰 Feel like they are learning the ways. 1147 Edited June 27, 2020 by WalkedUp

Sciurus
One trapped grey and two hedgepigs-grrr! Traps now on blocks hopefully no more wasted call outs to loan traps. Had a walk this afternoon and was surprised how many cherry trees there were, that I had never noticed before. 1148

Walker570
Just one more this morning in a live cage trap in our own wood. I did get a shot at another first thing on a flip top feeder elsewhere but the gusty wind took the pellet and I think the tree rat may have a sore nose because it jerked its head back and hit the lid on the feeder throwing it up in the the air before bolting up the tree and there was a groove in the front of the feeder where the pellet had skimmed across. 1150
