bavarianbrit
My pal over here has sent his son aged 16 on an exchange year to USA then he told me the couple over there were a gay pair, I was incredulous but he was fully cool about it. The son moved on to another US family after 3 months, go figure?
Zapp
The ban on being gay in the services was lifted while I was in the army. Before it happened most of us were against it, weakening morale, can't trust your mates and all that old pony. Then it was lifted and one by one guys we had known, served with and respected for years confided that they had a secret and we had to take stock on how wrong our preconceptions were. All that stuff about morale, unit cohesion, absolute rubbish. Since then I saw openly gay lads and lasses go off and fight in Iraq and Afghanistan with courage and dignity and I'm proud to know them. I'll take them and what they've done for this country any day over someone who has done nothing but condemns them from the safety and security they've bled to provide. You also seem to be overlooking ( again ) the fact he has the full support of his wife and children, so I doubt he’ll be a McDonalds Dad; and as his wife and daughters are intelligent, mature and understanding, neither are they remotely embarrassed. strimmer_13
Genuinely 1-didn't know he was married 2-always thought he was gay 3- couldn't give a dam. Not the first person I know who has left a partner for another person irrespective if it's for a bloke or another woman. His jobs to be on the TV, that's it. Before he got ruined by trolls he made a decision to announce it. Job done no big deal. Anyway who the hell watchs whatever morning program he's on to be concerned anyway. WalkedUp
I am not at all fussed about another person’s sexuality, I have friends who are homosexual and couldn’t care less about their or anyone else’s persuasion. I certainly don’t loose any sleep getting in the showers after football worrying about closeted homosexuals in the team. However back to the OP’s point - I had always assumed Phillip Schofield was already out, I hadn’t realised it was a secret. Hopefully as a society we can be open enough that people do not feel the need to hide or flaunt their sexuality. It’s a shame that it happens but will not necessarily destroy lives. My next door neighbour is homosexual but has grandchild and his ex-wife visits him frequently with her new husband, they are all friends.

In this particular case there are no children sobbing themselves to sleep for months as both his daughters are adults, and fully support their Dads decision, as does his wife her husbands, which is another fact you repeatedly seem intent on overlooking. That bitterness you’re seething with will eat you up. You sound just like my ex. 🙂

My best pal at school and then my best pal at University were both in your child’s position, impressive that fathers can do so well at bringing up children alone. I would probably be hopeless, fingers crossed I don’t need to find out for sure.
