B725
I've always admired anyone who can do wood working as I am totally useless at it, my Mrs wanted a large box making so I am giving a go. Lots of mistakes but that's the only way to learn and I've had to improvise by making clamp extensions and stuff. All the framing is from wood I already had and cut it down so the only thing ive had to buy was the tounge and groove but sadly ran out. treetree
That's very smart looking for someone who is useless at woodwork! How are you joining the 2x2? I've found the Kreg jig to be invaluable
B725
I've found the kreg pocket jointer to be very good. Close inspection of the benches won't stand up to much but they aint dropped to bitsย

Gordon R
It looks excellent. How are the corners of the box joined? Joints, dowels, screws, glue?
B725
With a pocket jig and glued as well.
Diver One
It's ย amazing what you can achieve when you try...problem is that most people won't try daughter wanted a book shelf/cabinet to match granddaughters wardrobe...so Iย got the phone call ย decided as a challenge to make it without any screws or nails and not a lot of glue. So I dowelled everyย joint , even routed the same Edge detail in as the original...all butt joints had a slight V in them. ย Worked well, daugherย was well impressed and 7 yeas onย it's stillย as good as the day we hammered Itย all together ( with fingers crossed )
B725
Well its now done so when it's dry the Mrs will have somewhere to put the spare blankets and stuff. Its not perfect and I don't think I will ever get a job working for a joinery firm but the OH likes it.ย
