When i phone for appointment with doc i tell the receptionist that i am depressed, and have a gun, and going to shoot myself, usually get seen right away, strange!

That’s fine for a laugh but when your fao gets a doctors report you will have your guns taken away please don’t encourage anyone on the forum to do that

Billy, did you forget to include some "emojis"?

Some Members might just take you seriously for once!

This country is getting overpopulated with illegals, so the system is breaking down, just another excuse for the Tory’s to privatise it.

Nobody is going to privatise the NHS, that was just a lie made up by Ed Milliband's election campaign in 2015 because they were trying to frighten people into voting for them.

GP surgeries are largely already privately owned. They always have been, they are contracted to the NHS.

Rubbish, it's been run into the ground.

While it's certainly not the sole cause, it's really not helping.

Just the fact illegal economic migrants are costing the tax payer tens of millions a day when it could be spent else where like the NHS.

That's without the security risk posed to the UK's people like the recent example of a known convicted multiple murder who slipped into the UK undetected pretending to be a child who then murdered a young UK citizen who asspired to become a royal marine.

Although I'm sure you won't acknowledge any of that Henry, it doesn't suit your narrative.

Re: shotgun certificates, I know this won't be popular, but they are outside what a GP is contracted to do. As mentioned, GP practices are private businesses contracted to the NHS. Do you expect them to do this extra work for free? If you think GBP70 is expensive, ask a lawyer to perform a similar task!

Agreed, but you've clearly been in NZ too long 🤣  We can barely get GPs to do what they are contracted to do, I.e. be a primary care provider and actually see patients.

The receptionists, always drawn from some human-dragonoid pool of candidates, have now been given god-like powers to decide if you're worthy, and will only answer the phone 08:30-08:35.

I wonder what they think they are contracted to do ?

From what I've heard, it's fallen apart in the UK. We do have some family experience of this, see my earlier post in this thread.
