If it’s on a clay ground and they have some demo guns all the better. One ore two guns are likely to ‘feel right’ and fit. Buy an original, unaltered gun with the original butt plate and quarter and three quarter chokes. Perfect gun, looks good and will shoot for ever. If you’re going on a buying trip, try visiting somewhere which stocks the guns above. You might need to take in a couple of RFDs. Nice problem to have. Good luck! Konor Posted February 15, 2023 Report Share Posted February 15, 2023 (edited) If you are considering the Miroku MK 60 the grade 3 would be a good option ,nicer wood and engraving than the grade 1 and avoids potential problems with the fancier grade 5 wood. I sold a Miroku grade 3 20 bore a few years back and regretted it later. Now have a grade 5 12 bore been lucky so far with no cracks in the wood. Very happy with my Grade 1 but most certainly not as standard. Had to be altered. Multi-choked by Nigel Teague, a cast put in the stock and a kickeezee butt pad fitted. ( the hard plastic standard butt plate on a thin stock can be a sore shoulder after 100 cartridges). But, been very happy with it for years. I think they are both good value for money especially second hand Yes I had one of those grade 3s in a 12 bore - beautiful gun. Like you I regretted selling it. You live and learn. The 20 bores have a higher comb than the 12 bores. The 20 is 36mm / 56mm. Don’t know if that would suit the OP or not….? We are all different shapes and sizes. As Islandgun said there are some cracking B Rizzinis to be had, but don’t discount the 20 bore MacNab Highlanders (made by B.Rizzini). For your budget you could have a S/H Highlander Teague choked if you were after a multi-choked gun. Alternatively you have the likes of Benelli 828U now in 20b, Cogswell & Harrison Optimum, new or William Powell Perdix, Kemen, perazzi etc S/H.
