Chineese cartridges

Recommended Posts

I've been looking through some cartridges I bought and one box turned out to be made in China,I've never seen or heard of them, there is a thread on PW about them but it was 2011 and I didn't want Gordon Bennett or other going on about reserecting old posts 20230306_124221_copy_1734x2312.jpg.b33364804c6dc50d5fdea97380fcb203.jpg20230306_124221_copy_1734x2312.jpg.b33364804c6dc50d5fdea97380fcb203.jpg20230306_124221_copy_1734x2312.jpg.b33364804c6dc50d5fdea97380fcb203.jpg20230306_124200_copy_1734x2312.jpg.a6ce466bd9bb915f7748c7647adb3a84.jpg20230306_124139_copy_1734x2312.jpg.35026024b287784e9c9ba101210515c2.jpg

But Belvoir, although it's French, sounds so, well, British! Thank you for posting that is really interesting to see. I suppose historically as the Chinese are said to have invented gunpowder that they could even claim to be the world's oldest manufacturer of sporting powder?

Maybe an infiltration of cheap chinese cartridges into the UK market would be a good thing.

It would certainly send a rocket up the *** of the UKs embedded suppliers and encourage them to stop ripping us off.

They can't be any worse than Eley Selects..

But they would then get sold at just less than the going rate!    :cool1:

That's a valid point. The importer would likely sell them at whatever the going rate is per thousand minus £20 and pocket the rest.

Shame really as I'd have no issue blasting thousands of dirt cheap cartridges if I could get them at a reasonable rate.

I remember those they had quite a bang to them and iirc a lot of clay events banned them for being to loud.

But they where also vey noisey&firey as in flams out th end of the barrel regularly.extremely dirty lots of part burt powder residue left in the barrels .mr Gladder was bit of a wheeler dealer bloke talked a good story ,am guessing he would have to invest a large amount of money for the import of the ammunition, consequently only one lot got imported, I remember using them ,they came out around the same time s Eley did a cheap cart .Eley North American Trap £17 for 250

The late Alan Poskitt was using them for a while, unfortunately there was allegedly an issue with pressure and his Perazzi went back to the factory for a new set of barrels. The cartridges disappeared off the market rather rapidly after this.
