Thought for the weekend,                                                                          now that we are being directed to a cashless society would it not be a good idea to scrap (get ride of) copper coins, 1p 2p.? no one every uses them, just round everything of would make more monies for the rich, ie £1.99 would become £2.00. I am surprised they haven't come up with the idea.                                                                Please give us your thoughts?

You must keep cash in all denominations, the banks make most of their money in transaction fees and small independent businesses pay proportionately more in fees than the larger supermarkets. The high streets are disappearing due to the push towards multinational corporations where the only way to make a transaction is via electronic means , the buying public think this is easy I don't even need to get out of bed to go shopping and the cycle begins. Once there is no cash independents will disappear and the banks will make even bigger profits. On the subject of banks the two biggest corporations in the word , Vanguard and Blackrock are the biggest investors in the banking industry with assets in the region of $20 trillion dollars , between them they effectively own most of the largest companies in the world . These companies shape and control the global economy and this is the real reason the world is being forced to go cashless.

Please take a few minutes and do some research, here is a good place to start

I love cash! We have various containers in which we put a designated amount each week, for various things but usually for expenses such as food when we’re away at art fairs etc. We’re good tippers in restaurants so it comes in handy for that too.
I pop a pound coin in a container everyday, and when I’ve got 20 of them I change them into a note in the local pub. It funds my syndicate subs.
I filter away other cash also when I can which is my ‘shooting fund’.
Not all the clay shoots we go to have a card reader, and even when they do, mate usually settles up and I give him half in cash. 🙂

I CONSTANTLY  have to remind my S in L  and my Grandkids that the clay ground we visit, does NOT have card facilities. This then usually entails my having to stop somewhere, so they can withdraw cash  ?  🙄

Is it JUST me that prepares everything the day before the event  ?   🤔

How quaint!

No, just realistic. I'm the one having to find a damned cash machine, for the Grandkids to get cash before we can go shooting.  There are no card facilities at the shooting ground. Something to do with phone signal, I believe.

If I had a pound (in cash) for every time the some of the older members of our DIY syndicate turned up completely unprepared at work parties, it'd cover a round of drinks at the end of season meal.  No knife, no water on hot days or anything to keep the sun off.

For the sake of your personal security, I strongly recommend you refrain from this practice.  At the least withdraw your cash from an ATM in a well lit area.

I know what you mean, some of those trying to return parcels can get quite agitated with the counter staff   !   😉

How very true.... Ask the likes of Budweiser (light), Gillette, Disney (and its subs) - they are all virtue signaling like there is no tomorrow - why? To get their ESG scores up and get funding from Blackrock and Vanguard....
