Once it was clear that it wouldnt be the 10s of 1000s coming projected, but the millions that did, the Blair regime should have started building homes, schools and hospitals to cope with the increased demand on services. The tories did a rubbish job too, too scared to upset the delicate apple cart of public feeling until it all started falling apart.. We now have nearly 10 million (official figures) more people since Blair took office in 97, and not nearly enough infrastructure to accommodate them, and that figure is rising by 3/4 of a million EVERY year. Unless labour pull some very clever plans out, the system is going to break down irrevocably, and it wont be any good blaming the tories, because no one will care whose fault it is. I will cut them some slack, because 2 weeks will not a country fix, but like I say , theres talking, and theres doing. It happened because they were very close to the French coast dealing with a deflated boat. The French requested help and the 13 the Border Farce picked up France asked to be returned because that is how it should work being well inside French waters and they presumably also didn't want to split up families.
