I too, am a recipient of Kevin’s generosity, not just in gifts, but in the trouble he has gone to in advising me on all things ‘wood turning and lathe work’.

His projects have been an inspiration to all who have followed their progress with an honest admission when things have not gone to plan.

I greatly admire his persistence and endeavour to discover new projects.

Only yesterday I received a gift from Kevin of a Parting Knife for use when carrying out wood turning.
As said, one of the good guys on PW.

Thanks again Kevin.

Your welcome Simon, and pleased it arrived safely 👍

I was going to send you an acrylic pen, but you can’t beat a nice piece of wood in your hand 😳

It's truly beautiful! I have never heard of zebrano wood before and I had to google it, it's gorgeous! It looks intricate and fiddling, so bravo on your workmanship ❤️

I had never heard of Zebrano wood (AKA zebra wood) until Kevin very kindly sent me some to try out on my bottle stoppers. It is now my ‘go to’ wood along with elm as it has, as can be seen from Kevin’s pens and also some of his other projects, the most gorgeous striped grain. Hence the name. It is an African hard wood. Thank you once again Kevin for introducing me to it.

Today I also became a member of owning one of the exclusive pens that Kevin so expertly make , we have had a horrible day today with non stop wind and rain and when I opened the parcel that was inside my post box it was like a ray of sunshine and it cheered me up no end , like Simon have already mentioned that we have some very knowledgeable , friendly and generous members on the forum and there can't many , if any better forums than the one we are on and long may it continue the way it is .

Many THANKS again to Kevin's generosity and hopefully will soon be on the mend .

:good:     MM

Thank you for your comment 👍

I will post a few pens for sale next month on the PW for sale section.

The pens I have gifted to PW members are people, who have helped and encouraged me in my past projects and have given honest feedback, regarding the quality of the pens, and if I need to improve anything on them.

I started off with the standard slimline kits to learn, but gradually moved on to a better quality kit, and TIGHTCHOKE was the 1st to receive one of the better quality wooden pen kits and eventually an acrylic one at a later date, for his help.

There are many people on PW who have encouraged me from day one, and you all know who you are, and especially Old Boggy who sent me many bits and pieces to try on my different projects

Thank you all, and as someone said previously, there are some really generous people on PW 😀👍

Can I add Old Boggy to this list. When I asked if anyone had some once fired 16 bore cases, he kindly posted me some and along with the cases was a bottle stopper and bottle opener he had made, both very high quality [still not sure how my rep as a bit of alcohol connoisseur reached Kent]

Cheers 😉

Yes Chris is a great guy and will help anyone out 👍

If you think his bottle stoppers and bottle openers are high quality, wait until you see his latest projects, and they are stunning.

He sent me a few photos of his current work in progress, and you won’t be disappointed 👍

When it come to generosity Chris ( Old Boggy ) seem to come up on a regular basis and when he last paid me visit he kindly drooped off a load of 12 bore cartridges as he no longer had a gun to use them , well they certainly accounted for a few Pigeons in those lazy hazy days of last Summer .

Dinner time I was having a bite to eat when I saw our postman walk up my driveway and knocked on my door , as I wasn't expecting a parcel I popped out to see what he wanted , he had a small parcel for me and from the outside I couldn't make out what was inside , on opening it I found a very well made bottle stopper , this was a work of art and made out of a wood I had never heard of and Chris informed me it was made out of a timber called Zebrano , a stunning piece of wood , this will take pride of place in my glass cabinet along with a bottle opener he kindly sent me and the pen that Shambam 1962 recently kindly sent me , I feel very honoured and privileged to received these lovely items and I would like to offer my sincere THANKS and when my time is up they will be passed over to my sister who I know will look after them as much as I do . :good:
