Sickening!

I was a 'bit of a tinker' as a teenager, but never stooped so low as to do this.

In our local cemetery, where my son is buried (his ashes) there is a tree, which we bought, where my family have added keyrings from when we are abroad on holidays, and many have been stolen. Also, under the bench that was purchased out of fundraising by the school he attended, there was a resin dog in the shape of a Jack Russell terrier. My father painted it to look exactly like the dog we had. It was there for many years, but last year, it was stolen! I felt sick to my stomach when I found out.

Has the council removed them Steve

There was something on the news last week about. Councils removing stuff from graves not sure if it's something  they are doing now

 Sorry to read this.

Well worth the ask, used to be true for ease of maintenance.

No. The council allowed them, and it's only a small tree. I reported it to the sexton who replied that 'gangs of youths' wander around the cemetery and he is powerless to stop them as he doesn't see what's going on. I also reported it to my local newspaper but they didn't print or say anything.

None of us were " angels " Steve, but we don't understand what causes them to do this type of thing because we don't think like them. Civilised humans like us never think to do or would want to vandalise other people's cherished possessions.

I lived in the rough part of town and the grave yard was the other side of the road if you done any thing to the grave yard you got it when you went home.

Sorry to hear  your sons item were stolen .

Thank you. It still makes me angry every time I visit him and clean around his bench. The resin statue was worthless, but as it looked like his dog, especially as my father painted it the same colours, it meant something. Also, the keyrings that were stolen annoys me. We still place them twice a year on our return from holidays with the hope that they won't be taken as well.

Even though he's been caught the courts wont give a hard enough sentence judges seem to live in a different world from everybody else

The police have not made another announcement since the mention of this person being arrested. But I agree, the sentence won't be hard enough. It costs money to keep them in prison!
