  1. There is no such thing as bad publicity if it keeps his face on the TV and Biden's face off it then he will have succeeded. The same news a a clip rolling out ever half hour is worth it to his campaign

    Pensions

When my friend Colin died a couple of years back I had to get involved with helping to wind up some of his estate because his sister wasn't really up to dealing with all the paper work. He had worked for London Underground but only as a track side worker on a fairly low grade, yet his pension was over £40,000 a year. The days of gold plated final salary pensions like that are a thing of the past now.
  3. a political observer on TV this morning said he is getting a massive amount of TV time in America because of this and Biden is hardly getting a look in. maybe he's not as dumb as we think
  4. In the most simple analysis, if everybody stuck 100% to the rules all the time there would be no spikes
  5. The conspiracy theory is that he hasn't got it at all but he was trailing in the polls so now he can say he was nobbled
  6. It was about three years ago, been no problem ever since
  7. My van wont run on Sainsbury's diesel, after about a week the engine light come on and it starts going into limp mode. Then you have to take it for a blast up the motorway. I run it on Shell and its fine. It took me quite a while to realise that it only happened when I filled up at Sainsburys
  8. You get up in the morning, possibly foregoinging the prospect of a day's work/overtime. You drive a number of miles, in my case often hundreds. You pay a lot of money for your shoot. Then you take you place on the peg/stand with the best shotgun you could afford and a load of carp ammo because it was 50p a box cheaper. Where is the sense in that?
  9. Every day on the London Underground there are about 25-30% of the people not wearing masks. The police who patrol the system don't say anything to them Dont need marshalls. just enforcement
  10. When I used to help out in the gun shop one of the commonest questions you would be asked was "whats the cheapest cartridge you do?" and the cheapest cartridge was always far and away the best seller. So much so that the cartridge manufacturers were very aware of this fact and produced budget cartridges accordingly then offered the shops reasonable discounts for bulk orders. The profit on cartridges was so slim and the customers so price sensitive that any form of discount for the shop was a lifeline. The point I was making was that almost invariably the special offer cartridges had a lighter shot load than the mid priced cartridges so like for like they didnt actually represent better value.. I cant really see a situation where less shot is better than more shot. When you spend all that time and money on your sport you want the best odds you can give yourself. Years ago the old 'gold standard clay cartridges like Winchester AA, Remington RXP, Eley Trapshooting or Eley Skeet, and lots of others, were always 1 1/8oz what has changed?
  11. Don't know Steve, it wouldn't work for us because for both our places (London and Cornwall) we are not allowed to fix anything to the outside of the building.
  12. It may not have done, its also a walk in centre for people on bail to report to they said on TV just now. We will have to wait for a proper statement, news people are just speculating wildly at present. Blue lives matter?
  13. Thats correct the second amendment enabled the right to raise a civil militia, The right of the people to keep and bear arms
  14. The only thing you are not right about is that there are ever any military contracts issued for ammunition in the USA. Since WW2 Federal law has been that all military ammunition and all its components has to be made in house by the military itself from materials sourced from within the US. The biggest plant is at Lake City, and its huge, but there are others dotted about strategically. Most american military ammo is headstamped LC like ours is stamped RG (Royal Ordinance Factory Radway Green) None is bought from any civilian manufacturers. They probably wouldn't be able to meet the strict specification requirements these days in any case. We tend to think of military ammunition as being of a lower standard than commercial ammo but actually the reverse is probably true. It was a blow for the big names because years ago government contracts were big business for them The thinking behind this move was initially National security, the threat of strikes by agitators during WW2 and civilian plants were not secure enough to be safe from sabotage. This way they have total control. As ammunition and weapon systems become more sophisticated they need consistancy. Chain fed machine guns on helicopter gun ships fire thousands of rounds a minute, they cant afford jam ups.
  15. Thats where you will get the best advice on primers and a lot of other things besides. Be careful though, this time next year you will have three
  16. Reported in BMJ that a follow up on track and trace in Sheffield indicated that up to two thirds of people contacted were not self isolating as they should be. Also, not in that report, suggestions that people are not giving honest information to track and trace because they don't want to admit doing something that they shouldn't have done like going to a party or a lock in. Or because they dont want to "grass up" friends or family fearing it will get them into trouble.
  17. More lead in the sky is the way to break more clays. cheap cartridges with less lead are just that, cheap. One day you will understand In the mean time, practice practice, practice
  18. My mate drove a reliant kitten for a suprisingly long time. He loved it, they were easy to fix and didn't rust which at that time was a real bonus. We look back on them now with distain but they had their strong points
  19. The trouble is it makes puppy farming a real money earner
  20. They were told they were very naughty boys and not to do that again or the policeman will be very cross with them
  21. You can't go far wrong with a KIA to be honest. They used to be considered a budget marque but those days are long gone
  22. The Europarts of this world cherry pick the parts they want to supply. Its a perfectly fair business plan and one that clearly works given the success of the operation but it lumbers the main agents with having a much slower rate of turnover. That becomes a slow downward spiral where prices are concerned.
  23. If i am right its based on how the vehicle was declared when first registered. this
