Beardo
stops you smelling too bad NB when you shoot with Gary or SS it's usually best to have your own 'fog of war' so you can't smell theirs. my shooting clothes smell of gently decomposing forest floor
Lez325
I just bung mine in a 40 degree wash-( or rather she who must be obeyed does) no soap powder of any kind- sometimes throw in a handfull or 3 of fresh Pine needles wrapped in a sock- gives them a woody smell They never come out totally clean but do smell a tad better Les
sitsinhedges
Milletts sell a couple of different brands of detergent that have no UV brighteners in them. Mine is branded 'Peter Storm' and costs a fiver for a bottle
chrispti
When my clothes start to feel like a chamois leather and are as stiff as cardboard, I stick them in the washing machine without any detergent, on a 30 degree short cycle spin thing ............... number
foxbuster
Like a few of the replies already-never wash mine, if they get absolutely 'bogging' i take the hose pipe to them. I reckon all that 'natural aroma' of mud, cow **** etc does a job of concealing your human scent to a certain extent. Or perhaps im just lazy
sixhills 69
Cheers my other half thinks if it dosn't move and smells then it goes in the washing machine, i have come home from work and found the dog hiding behind the shed. I will visit Millets had give her some liquid adn get her a sock full of pine needles. Thanks Sixhills

MC
I use NIKWAX TECH WASH as my shooting coat is Goretex and it restores the waterproofing after washing. My fowling coat gets hosed down once a year if it needs it or not.
CharlieT
Can someone please explain what UV on my clothing is. As a humble farmer I get all sorts of muck on my clothes that Mrs T seems to get rid of in her washing machine but she's never complained about Persil not washing out UV. VicW
When I was game shooting my kit got washed in the rain. My leggings and wellies would get the hose on them in the yard before I took them off. The dog got a wash as well but then he got a good rub down and wrapped in a towel so I could smell wet dog on the way home. Vic.

snozzer
Get some "Soap Nuts", the Long Haired General in charge of domestic engineering uses them on all our clothes (So I am informed), she saves a shed load of money using them compared to washing powder (I mean like 1/2 the cost if not more). Get a free sample here

Cannon
Let the clothes dry out and proceed to beat wth a big stick This should be the only 'washing' necessary
