THE GRIFF
I am looking at getting a new pair of wellies as I am on my third pair in the last 12 months. I am ideally looking for some that are comfortable to walk in and warm in the cold, I aren't bothered if they are too warm in the summer because I normally wear boots in the summer anyway. One of the issues I am having is finding a pair that my harkila pro hunter trousers will tuck into as these trousers are quite thick, my previous wellies have been thin neoprene type ones and although they are comfy they havn't been warm and don't last very long. I have looked at the hunter style wellies with adjustable strap at the side and was wondering if these would accomodate the trousers better. I have looked at the le chameau and the aigle iso boots but although they both feel good quality I am reluctant to spend that sort of money on something that can easily be torn on barbed wire. Is there any cheaper options anyone can recomend and which wellies are people wearing that are comfy with thick trousers tucked in? Mr pigeon
I've got the top end chameaus mate expensive but worth every penny. I've abused them for three years now and still as good as day I bought them. I've heard good and bad things about every type of welly and I've had most types but these have lasted longest. ColinF
I've got a pair of these http://www.uttingsoutdoors.co.uk/Product/142/107993/seeland-estate-18-inch-5mm-side-zip-wellington-boot-dark-green-32-02-061-34/ Only had them 3 or 4 months, but so far so good. Very warm and comfortable, Vibram soles and they seem to be good quality Edited March 28, 2013 by ColinF
PhilR
I've got two pairs of Le Chams, a neoprene lined pair with buckle/strap and a leather lined pair with full length zip. The neoprene ones are warmer especially if not moving around much, such as sitting in a hide. It's easier to tuck trousers into the full length zipped boots too, the leather lined ones also come up in two calf sizes 41 and 43 cm which might also make a difference. Dominicrobed
Muck boots for me as well , why spend so much when a cheaper boot is just as good ?
chrisjpainter
aigle parcours for me. I was brought up on a nil-bar-Hunters diet, but after finding a pair of Parcours for half price I couldn't really say no. They knock the socks of the Hunters; the soles are way better and they're so much more comfortable! Yeah, they're expensive, but they've lasted far longer than any Hunters have and have survived everything I've thrown them into! Even at full price I'd say they're worth it

al4x
Lots depends how much you wear them and if you stand about in them much, my best buy we're a pair of the full length zip leather lined hunters on offer at a third TE usual retail and they are 6 or 7 years old have been beating each year do 3-4 miles a day walking the dog and have lasted so an absolute bargain. Cheap boots are an issue when they eat your feet if you walk far in them, fine if you just use when muddy but not if you walk miles in them during a days shooting. When I get another pair it will be a pair of the leather lined le cham's simply because they are as close to wearing walking boots but being waterproof you can wear all winter. That and I have to keep the standards of dress up on our driven days
Thunderbird
I've got the Musto ones, they fit really well and they are like wearing an extended walking boot really. Highly recommended.

ayano3
Agile for me too. I have had many sorts over the years but the ones I have now really are the best I have ever had. Ok they were over £100 but was money well spent.
Cosd
The Aigle Parcours Prestige with full leather lining are extremely comfortable. When I tried the equivalent in Hunters and there was a big difference in comfort. The Aigles just felt much more supple on the foot. They also have a full length zip and come in two calf sizes! Posh wellies are fashion items IMO and experience the dearer the weaker. One thing I can say 100% is Farmers don't give a stuff about looking affluent or in fashion and wear theirs every single day. I have a pair of Le-Chams here with a leak at the heel a pair of neo hunters with a leak around the fold line out of interest
