Which wellies, warm comfortable!

I am looking at getting a new pair of wellies as I am on my third pair in the last 12 months.

I am ideally looking for some that are comfortable to walk in and warm in the cold, I aren't bothered if they are too warm in the summer because I normally wear boots in the summer anyway.

One of the issues I am having is finding a pair that my harkila pro hunter trousers will tuck into as these trousers are quite thick, my previous wellies have been thin neoprene type ones and although they are comfy they havn't been warm and don't last very long.

I have looked at the hunter style wellies with adjustable strap at the side and was wondering if these would accomodate the trousers better.

I have looked at the le chameau and the aigle iso boots but although they both feel good quality I am reluctant to spend that sort of money on something that can easily be torn on barbed wire.

Is there any cheaper options anyone can recomend and which wellies are people wearing that are comfy with thick trousers tucked in?

I've got a pair of these

Only had them 3 or 4 months, but so far so good. Very warm and comfortable, Vibram soles and they seem to be good quality

I've got two pairs of Le Chams, a neoprene lined pair with buckle/strap and a leather lined pair with full length zip. The neoprene ones are warmer especially if not moving around much, such as sitting in a hide. It's easier to tuck trousers into the full length zipped boots too, the leather lined ones also come up in two calf sizes 41 and 43 cm which might also make a difference.

aigle parcours for me. I was brought up on a nil-bar-Hunters diet, but after finding a pair of Parcours for half price I couldn't really say no. They knock the socks of the Hunters; the soles are way better and they're so much more comfortable! Yeah, they're expensive, but they've lasted far longer than any Hunters have and have survived everything I've thrown them into! Even at full price I'd say they're worth it

i now use the argyll wellies made by hunter. they are comfy roomy and warm. the are long lasting too. even prince charlie was wearing thenm on countryfile a week or so ago.

best of all they are £35 a pair from most country/farm supplies.

And this is about the correct price to pay for wellies if you don't live in the city :good:

Lots depends how much you wear them and if you stand about in them much, my best buy we're a pair of the full length zip leather lined hunters on offer at a third TE usual retail and they are 6 or 7 years old have been beating each year do 3-4 miles a day walking the dog and have lasted so an absolute bargain. Cheap boots are an issue when they eat your feet if you walk far in them, fine if you just use when muddy but not if you walk miles in them during a days shooting. When I get another pair it will be a pair of the leather lined le cham's simply because they are as close to wearing walking boots but being waterproof you can wear all winter. That and I have to keep the standards of dress up on our driven days

The Aigle Parcours Prestige with full leather lining are extremely comfortable. When I tried the equivalent in Hunters and there was a big difference in comfort. The Aigles just felt much more supple on the foot. They also have a full length zip and come in two calf sizes!

Quite correct if you wear them once a week over 7yrs that's one years use to anyone who wears them every single day, I just don't see many Sheep or cattle farmers wearing £200 willies with leather linings etc.

Read the post properly he wears them for 3-4 miles every day walking the dogs. You don't see sheep or cattle farmers spending money because they are tight as duck's *****

fair point but they don't seem to mind spending mega bucks on things that really matter. Posh wellies are fashion items IMO and experience the dearer the weaker. One thing I can say 100% is Farmers don't give a stuff about looking affluent or in fashion and wear theirs every single day. I have a pair of Le-Chams here with a leak at the heel a pair of neo hunters with a leak around the fold line out of interest
