Doc Holliday
Bowmore Legend Islay is my No.1 choice closely followed by Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Islay (very easy drinking single malt - which may be a tad dangerous to some), Talisker, Oban, Dalwhinnie. The oldest single malt I had was a Gordon & McPhail (Glen Grant I think) 50 year old (birthday present from Mrs H) and bottle of 40 year old prior to that. Very palatable. Nice toffee taste to both. shoot and be safe
I've never read such rubbish, not one mention of highland park 12yo. Cracking tipple from the orkneys. Highland Park for me Edited March 29, 2013 by shoot and be safe
aldivalloch
I've never read such rubbish, not one mention of highland park 12yo. Cracking tipple from the orkneys. Good whisky, but there's no such place as "the Orkneys". Or, for that matter "the Shetlands". It's "Orkney" and "Shetland". We don't talk about "the Jerseys", do we? Here comes the pedantic bit. Whiskey (with an e) is not made in Scotland. That would be whisky. My favourite whiskey is Black Bush - from the Bushmills Distillery in Co. Antrim. And yes, it really does say Black Bush on the bottle. Well said, that man. No point in you lot claiming to be connoisseurs if you can't even spell the name of your "favourite tipple". It's WHISKY. No "e" in it. Long live the pedants!!

kdubya
those who know me know I do like a drop of the hard stuff, at the moment my tipple of choice is scapa 16 year old, not cheap but nice, very very smooth, I have had a bash at the 25 year old stuff that was beautiful, but at £250 a bottle its a special occasion jobbie for me.
