Dunkield
You can check:- http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/browse It works for Lotus Cortina, but not the Sunbeam. Good site that, so the bloke down the road from me has an S2 Europa he uses every day, and according to that it is one of only about 20 still in use. rimfire4969
My first car was a Triumph Dolomite 1500 HL. But I always have a bit of a thing for the Dolimite Sprint. I already have a 1964 Sunbeam Alpine in the process of restoration but when its done i might get myself a Sprint.

shaun4860
My first car was a human hunter 1500 Cost me £90 to buy and £89 Tpft insurance Only mod I did/could afford was to swap the steering from bus size to sports. Always loved the look of the Dolomite Sprint Edited August 12, 2013 by shaun4860
sandspider
Own a Porsche 928 now, again not to everyones taste. Beautiful engine note when rolling along at tickover, but rather thirsty. I've got a 944, which has basically half the 928's V8!
Gordon R
I too fancied a Talbot Rancho - which was basically a tarted-up Simca van - first of the soft roaders. They were ahead of their time, but not in the anti-rust department.
Imperfection
For some odd reason i've always had a hankering for a Fiat Panda 4x4. Try not to laugh.
moor man
For some odd reason i've always had a hankering for a Fiat Panda 4x4. Try not to laugh. Saw a fiat panda 4x4 totally covered / snowed in, in a highland carpark, looked like it was abandoned when two big climbers laden with kit arrived. They loaded up, cleared the windscreen and it started! They drove out the carpark over a snow bank! I was impressed, the weather was so cold that a friends car needed towing....no antifreeze doh! Dunkield
For some odd reason i've always had a hankering for a Fiat Panda 4x4. In certain parts of Italy there is one in almost every driveway, simply because they can do the business in the snow where others fail
four-wheel-drive
Lada Niva...........always fancied one of these....stupid I know. Nothing stupid about them its a pity that they stopped selling them in the UK but they but I think that you can still get them one of the few Russian cars that are designed properly I would love one if I could find a rust free one at the rite price. There was, as I do not know if there still is, a farmer in Cumbria who deals with Niva and Cossack spares and cars, I believe it was Askew Rigg Farm near Mungrisedale/Threlkeld (sp). Well worth checking him out.

amateur
I had a Wartburg Knight two-stroke in the late 70's - spacious, cheap and reliable as long as you remembered the two stroke oil when you filled up. Only 20 left though according to the web-site above
Balian
I almost bought a Clan Crusader a couple of years back, quite liked the look of those. Never seen one on the road though.

Gordon R
Owned a couple of Maxis - long time ago. They were way ahead of their time:- Overhead cam, hatchback, transverse engine, hydro-lastic suspension, 5 speed box etc.

lincs1963
Vauxhall Firenza for some reason and Austin Maxi.Triumph Herald was my first car;neat little thing, and my Dad had a Dolomite Sprint.VW Beetle. A lad I know who lives a couple of 100 yards away from me builds and restores VW campers. One of his featured in a national classic magazine some years ago.He has a rally tuned Hillman Avenger as his runaround (the yellow one with the black stripes,if anyone remembers them) and does all the work on my Landy. Used to get a lift to work in a Saab 96 which I liked a lot;had never driven column change before then. The avenger was the "Tiger" it was Hillmans version of the escort Mexico. unapalomablanca
A post in another thread mentioned skodas being ten a penny a few years back. Am i the only person that thinks the skoda estelle had a great look? What other odd motors would you never admit to liking? (Obviously for the thread to work you will have to admit to liking them but it goes no further) I like modern skodas for sure. vw's by another name. I would have one tomorrow, I always liked the capri s either 2 or 3 litre. Also the escort rs 2000. Probably why I watch the professionals still. -Mongrel-
I like modern skodas for sure. vw's by another name. I would have one tomorrow, I always liked the capri s either 2 or 3 litre. Also the escort rs 2000. Probably why I watch the professionals still. I had a few Capris culminating in a modded 2.8i, straight cut gearbox, locking diff, bored out to 3.2 and custom injectors and chip...dropped 2" all round and on adjustable gas struts. Bloody mods came in at more than the car, it did bloody go though and even went round corners.....relatively well! Also has a Vauxhall Firenza droop snoot, quirky old beast that was! Another early monstrosity I had a soft spot was the Austin Princess, now there's a classy motor!
Catweazle
I always fancied a Fiat Uno Turbo or a Renault 5 Gordini. They look like great fun. In fantasy world I would have a Metro 6r4
