digger
Managed to flip a piece of 8x1 over whilst doing a rip out on a property we are renovating, as it landed it put a 2 inch nail through my hand from the back through to the palm. Pulled timber off slowly then cursed for several minutes. Hand now swollen and tender. Scratch or injury ? Top trumps on site injuries

Elby
Know how that feels. I put a 8 inch knife through the palm of my hand and right through the back of it.
Gordon R
Climbed over a wrought iron gate, some years ago, for a neighbour who had locked her front door, but left the back door open. Slipped down the other side and impaled my foot on a wrought iron spike. Went straight through my boot. Worst part was pulling myself back up to free my foot. If I had fallen, I shudder to think about ripping my leg off. Boot full of blood. Planed the tip off two fingers - down to the bone - in 1994 - whilst helping some friends convert a house into flats. I'm sure others have had far worse.

proud dad
A pane of glass fell out of a window frame onto the top of my wrist, cutting every tendon so I couldn't move my fingers. Luckily it was a thick piece of glass otherwise it would have taken my hand clean off.
figgy
Be careful can get a nasty infection when it goes in deep. A few ago I was putting up stud walls in a house I was building with a Paslode framing nailer using 90 mm nails on the cls framing into the joist and noggins and 75mm nails on the double timbers either side of openings for door casings. Going well all morning changing nails till I forgot and left 90 mm in pushed second piece of 38 mm wood to first to double up nailed straight through and in through the socket part of knuckle into the ball on index finger. Took some prizing off, when I did not a lot of blood really just a purple mark with a red dot in but a few moments later ohh the sodding pain, hand swelled up couldn't move finger for days and the pain is so deep you can't get to it. I know just what your feelling and will feel in the coming days. Take some pain killers to work with you. Figgy

Amazed
Replacing a blade in a Stanley folding craft knife and it spun round whilst tightening slicing the side of my thumb and sticking into the joint. I said to my brother hay look at this and watched him turn green didn't hurt until they pulled the blade out and glued it

Shooting2
Well not me but a lad on a site I was working was mixing cement in an old diesel cement mixer, finished shovelling the last shovel of cement in and hit his spade on the side of the drum to stop it from sticking to the sides. His shovel went straight the drum and with him holding onto it spun him up side down when the shovel snaps clean in half and cuts all of his balls off and sticks into his leg. Luckly Someone was close by and was able to switch it off but they could only find one of his testes in time and so managed to fasten it back on, he narrowly escaped losing his leg. Can't imagine the pain.

ME
The last time I went to the quacks (after snapping a drill bit in the palm of my hand), he informed me that I have had enough tetanus jabs now to last my lifetime. That was handy to remember when I slipped and sunk a Global kitchen knife into the same hand last year. I now have a permanently numb thumb. I could touch myself with it and it would feel like someone else..
