Underdog
I bought some Jackfishface wellies not long back and the left one leaks! Been leaking for a while but may as well go bare foot now. I can not find a hole! Anyone else had an issue with JackPike wellies? What is the favourite wellie here? U
welsh1
I loved wearing muckboots,so warm and comfortable, but the neoprene on the heel kept coming off and they split across the toe bend area to easy.I have worn hunter Balmoral neoprene for the last two years and have found them to be great, warm light and comfortable i recommend them. I do have fat legs so a lot of boots are out.
Davyo
Mate,I dont know whats going on with wellies these days, even the top brands are cutting corners like using cheap glue.My Musto's lasted 7 weeks, mates Hunter balmoral's seam on the zip started to come apart.Previous to my Musto's I had Seeland's,heel came away after 10mth and the same with my sons.We have gone back to Muck boots. tx4cabbie
Got some grub stalkers, and they are Comfy, warm, and the sole is so grippy it's unreal, a 45degree wet Clay slope is no problem. All this, and they stretch round my huge calves. Not a summer wellie though, box says warm down to -20c and they are not kidding.
gazbev
Go for grubs,I've had agile and muck and for the money they come tops for me. Agile are great but no better than grubs, muck are good but they need a better sole, grub are very similar but with a vibram sole. Got some grub stalkers, and they are Comfy, warm, and the sole is so grippy it's unreal, a 45degree wet Clay slope is no problem. All this, and they stretch round my huge calves. Not a summer wellie though, box says warm down to -20c and they are not kidding. As above
kent
I seem to get 12mnths max, it don't seem to matter if I buy overpriced French ones, hunters or cheaper ones they all last about the same. Some of these work out too much a month so I no longer look at them if they break a Ton you only gain a lot of expensive branding. Fully accept if you use them in a very mild environment or "daily wear" consists of walking the dog across the playing field each day they might last years, though I seriously struggle to get more wear out of them than the year. Hunters go when the sole section parts company and Le cham go through unidentified leaks (that I suspect are numerous pin holes through perishing) , Side zips are too thin a rubber behind the zipper and it perishes low down quite quick
TIGHTCHOKE
I have had my Neoprene lined Le Chameau boots for 17 years now! I wear them whenever I am likely to be walking through wet grass or streams, I do not wear them when a good leather boot will do. I keep them clean and sprayed with the Boot Conditioner that Le Chameau make. I am very happy with them.
Bobba
I wear an indestructible pair of Navvies Wellies from the local Army Surplus Store. Crude, cheap but effective.
V8 90
I've had my Hunters for 7 years - like TIGHTCHOKE I only wear them as/when actually needed - still they've seen a lot of service
kennett
Aigle, cant go.wrong! had the same problem as everyone else. Le chameau perished on toe, or sole fell off, sealand perished and hunter balmoral were horrible! Had aigles 3 years, of propper nearly ever day use and not a leak yet
Underdog
Very interesting alas I am non the wiser! It seems there is an element of the luck of the draw! I too only wear these when needs must and only had them a few months. I can feel my wallet trembling again

foosa
I bought some jack fish face Wellies last year, it was 3 weeks when both split across the top of the toe where they fold, took them back and dealer said they had loads returned due to faulty rubber used in the construction of the boot, exchanged them for the new improved version of the same boot with better rubber and they been really good with no further issues. I also have a pair of Aigle that are pushing 10 years old, again cleaned after use and stored indoors. Did have some Hunters that only lasted 12 months, BUT were left out under car port, they perished.
