Don't know they've been around for a while I would have a look in your local curry store or similar,,,,,,,, look ok, £99 go for it. Its a bit early

though for a Christmas prezzie

Blimey just checked out how much those Dyson super all singing dancing wallet emptying cleaner's are not much change from £400 for one of them, they can come and clean the house too for that.

The Henry family of cleaners are ok but to remove pet hair you going to put in allot more effort, drop the brushes on the head and a fair amount of back and forth movement to loosen the hairs.

Or get one that does it for you, the old original beating sweeping cleaning machine.

Henry's don't have brushes in, they are great for hard floors or short office type carpets but don't beat your carpet to remove and stir up the ingrained muck like the dyson would, the slim dyson is worlds apart from any other handheld cleaner on the market at present and the reason you're paying more is its cordless, lightweight and handheld . The roller gets clogged now and again with pet har as I have a rather hairy mutt but to remove it you turn the end cap 1/4 turn using a coin and remove the roller to clean, simple as . They are very expensive for a vaccum cleaner but I would buy another if this one broke

We have a Vax Power4, 2000W. Absolutely the bee's knees (she tells me). Massive suction, great range of tools and keeps up with our ever moulting hound.

Previously had a Dyson, very expensive and fell apart bit by bit (as did next door's); if you buy one, buy a tool kit and get an account with e-spares! The Vax was a fraction of the price and has outlasted it.

Having said that, out in the garage I've a 30 year old Panasonic that continues to clean the car very well, only replaced it due to the hype of the Dyson.

Mrs Merkel is an unpaid tester and destroyer of vacum cleaners, the Dysons were good for the 2 year guarantee that they used to offer, we had more Dyson motors than you can shake a stick at, our garage looked like a cleaner grave yard.

Enter Henry, we bought 2 in a sale, 1 for upstairs and 1 for downstairs its now 5 years on and for a single on off switch they are both still running perfectly.

If you change their bags regularly and keep them clean as Beardo says they love you long time and the car is back in the garage.

I had a long thread on this a whole back but on a bad wifi train connect so cannot find a link.

We had our dyson refurbed for about 70 ish quid by dyson and done at home to suit us. Superb service.........and it was upgraded so better than original...... Mrs is very happy.

All of the Numatic range are good-run the Henry without the paper bag for best results. If you want value then buy a Dyson 07 from a dump/Ebay and for £80 Dyson will send an engineer who will replace any worn or broken parts and leave it like new-should cost less than £100 all in.

If you can afford one the vacuum cleaner I'd recommend is vorwerk, all other makes are useless. If you can't afford one or don't want to spend the that sort of money on one then a Henry/ Miele cylinder cleaner. All that a upright cleaner does is push the dirt into the carpet and wreck it, I did a short spell selling vacuums. We own a Henry, I'd love a vorwerk but need to priorities.
