KFC
My stick is just a plain Hazel stick. I use it for crossing ditches, moving brambles & barbed wire, a monopod when stalking, clearing twigs off electric fences and so much more. This morning it was missing from my truck. I started my walk-round and it felt like I had a limb missing. I eventually found it by the release pen. Leant it against my truck and got involved in popping Squirrels. Drove off without it. Didn't feel right not having a stick. Do you value your stick?
birdsallpl
Yes very much so. I have two one long one for Wildfowling which I have had for over 20 years, sadly it doesn't get used as often as I would like these days and one shorter that I leave always in my shooting truck. I just don't enjoy a walk out without it.
Blackpowder
Feel lost on a Shoot day without mine. Its a very heavy blackthorn but can bash a way through briars and bramble when its my turn to beat, its strong enough to help me over barbed wire fences, a great uphill accelerator and downhill brake, dispatches wounded game with a stroke. Cosd
Where can you buy these from? I'll be looking at one of these for wildfowling..... Just looked on evilbay....quite a few to choose from!! Edited November 11, 2014 by Cosd
CaptainBeaky
Hazel is easy to find and prepare. My stick is a piece cut when we coppiced some hazel at our local scout camp. Mind you, I'd love a blackthorn, but finding a piece big enough is difficult. Edited November 11, 2014 by CaptainBeaky
Big Mat
A very valuable piece of shooting equipment in my opinion. Mine has saved me from getting into a bad situation several times whilst wildfowling!
