welshwarrior
Wonder if he has storage for guns if you book in the night before a days shooting?
Gordon R
He is truly a sad individual, who doesn't like to be brought to book for what he has said. He is clearly not very bright and can't grasp the impact of what he has said. It is other people who have caused the problem - not him. I hope he runs his business with the same lack of intelligence - I'm surprised it survives.

srspower
It was amusing hearing him squirm. I think it's great this has got out in to the media and it just goes to show that we DO have power. No more hiding in the shadows, together we can change things. muffin
Dougy All you need in most elections is some folk to vote for you. District Council live in the District. People in the District to sign your nomination papers. Then get them to vote. BASC Council be a member. A member to nominate and second you and get members to vote. The Mighty Prawn
I note he has trip advisor icons all over his B&B web page. Perhaps a review on there flagging up his habit of gloating over peoples deaths might go down well. Let's do this gang!
Captain Caveman
Good work BASC and well done to all who complained to the Council's standards board.
The Mighty Prawn
Let's do this gang! Here's my trip advisor review Apparently a man with mental health issues committing suicide is something to be celebrated, utterly distasteful - hope your business suffers the same fate as this tragic gentleman. This will soon be deleted but his conscience is stained forever It was instantly deleted, methinks they are already on it!
DeepThought
Perhaps something more subtle would get through, such as a review complimenting him on the wild roast pigeon and foie gras he served you.

Steppenwolf
I think this is good. It shows that us gunowners and hunters can do lobbying, so next time the government passs some anti-gun legislation unless we work hard and campaign and lobby we only have ourselves and our apathy to blame. Katzenjammer
Disgraceful, ryedale is such a rural area with a big shooting fraternity surely this idiots days in local council must be numbered? True but coming from that area myself I know that over the past 40 years or so the demographics have changed from what they were when I was a lad. There are a lot of well to do incomers who have settled there but do not like the harsh realities of rural life. There have been complaints from some newcomers in villages about hens crowing, cattle mooing, tractors clogging the roads etc Edited December 13, 2014 by Katzenjammer

Only because of BASC in reality. Shows the power of an association rather than the wittering of individual grumpy old men like us
Guest stevo
Only because of BASC in reality. Shows the power of an association rather than the wittering of individual grumpy old men like us[/quote I would like to think its more of a collective effort . Think your find a lot of people put in formal complaints long before others did . Basc just "beefed up " and backed us up along with everyone else . To be honest i couldn't give a **** who done what . Its more the fact that we all did . Just my opinion .
Steppenwolf
That is because BASC to some extent represents grassroots shooting, not some organizations created to be virtually mouthpieceses of the government. Make no mistake, if BASC was the same then their protestations would fall on deaf ears.
Gordon R
not some organizations created to be virtually mouthpieceses of the government. A list of those organisations might be useful.
malkiserow
The good folk on here did a great job. Established organizations with lots of members have more clout, than small ones or individuals. Note the radio station only quoted BASC. If a bigger organisation than BASC had made a statement they would be the one quoted. Has he stepped down yet?
Liamey
Disgusting vile individual. The dog poop I just picked up is more intelligent than Woodward. Everyone should take to trip advisor as well as twitter to show their continued disgust. Just what type of counsellors does ryedale have? Westley
He runs a B&B (info freely available on his register of interests on the council web page). http://www.ashfield-house.co.uk/index.php "We serve only the very best locally sourced bacon and sausages". Hypocritical scum bag. Along with "line caught Alaskan smoked Salmon " ! Edited December 13, 2014 by Westley
birdsallpl
Any one local heard anymore about this? Hope it just doesn't fade away and the guy gets away with it. Edited December 14, 2014 by birdsallpl
fenboy
I cannot see him getting away with it , his council should insist he makes a grovelling apology in front of the media and then remove him from his position on the council
kennett
It's on the daily fail, Scarborough local papers and apparently they are running it again in local papers this week. His party have refused to back him up, as has the local council. So looking like we have got him in trouble
