I've a few good days on flailed maize but none this year, best bit is you don't have to worry about where you set up as often the blocks are small. Sure I would. But it happens all the time, people don't want to share anymore. If it's anything like the guys who use my permission sometimes, normally the summer and moan when they see me turn up after shooting all year on the land then I have no problem trying to get rid. ditchman Posted February 8, 2015 Report Share Posted February 8, 2015 we have a lot of pigeons about...mostly in smaller flocks.....that suits me fine as i know it will come good in spring and summer.............all the game covers were slashed couple of days after the end of the season........................saw the boys go out.......................NOTHING...NOTHING ...NOTHING...........the years before the birds thought it was the pigeon version of crack cocain !! We do get the odd red letter days but they're only about once a year, twice if we're very lucky. Crows are a different matter though. GingerCat Posted February 14, 2015 Report Share Posted February 14, 2015 Big rape field behind my house and I regularly put up 3-500 birds when I go down the garden to check the chickens. The farmer won't have shooting on the land so the field gets picked bare. There are a few that pop in the garden to feed on the veg bed and they often end up in the freezer.
