samboy
Hi gang. I was asked today when you shoot a Rabbit why do you take one of the eyes out of it. Said ive never heard of it but was told it was to help the Rabbit bleed. Can anyone throw some light on this or is it April 1st. Thanks all. Scully
If you hit them in the right place with your .22, they both pop out.

LeadWasp
leave it for a while whilst you walk around your perm and a magpie will have them out
timmytree
Nothing to do with bleeding out, if it's only stunned and comes around it can only run in circles so it's easier to catch.

malkiserow
I find a bullet wound a good place to initiate bleeding
Paul taylor
I hit one last week with the little sub 12ft/lb S200 and it looked like the fox pics I see on here hit by centre fire rounds, eyes popped right out. Quite hideous really 😱 Edited May 28, 2015 by Paul taylor
SPARKIE
i find just removing the head completely with my .17ah does a good enough job of bleeding them out
walshie
You eat the rabbit and put the eye on your mantelpiece to see you through the week.

WelshMike
Pretty sure this is a **** take. Head shoot them with a .17 hmr and they bleed out pretty well (and are normally missing an eye and a fair chunk of their head as well).

samboy
Spoke to the chap who mentioned this and he said he kept captive Rabbits and killed them by a chop on the back of the neck and when dead then pulled an eye out to bleed them. He is a Frenchman by the way. So they were not shot as i put but dont know if this makes it any clearer.
