Browning 425 clay hunter
Evening all, a few weeks ago I overheard a conversation between a couple of colleges at work about a message claiming to be the POLICE that popped up while they were watching adult videos online , it says they've been watching child/animals/rape and other weird and illegal types. They mentioned how it popped up on screen and no matter what they did they couldn't get rid of the message. If you click OK which is the only way to get off the page then it says you're going to be charged by the police and you have to pay a £100 by card immediately to avoid the police from arresting you. Well it was inevitable that with the amount of 'late night browsing' it was only a matter of time till I got it, and last night it did, after 10 mins on my phone off turning off and on I managed to get rid of the message. But it got me thinking how many people would just pay the £100 to save any embarrassment of getting someone to sort there phone/laptop/computer or so on. So has anyone else had this pop up on them ? There's a lot of dirty ******** on here so someone must have ! Just thought I'd share with everyone.

Scully
I had this a couple of years ago but it locked my PC (microsoft) and claiming to be from Cheshire Police Force. It stated I'd been watching child pornography etc and unless I paid £100 to Cheshire Police Force my PC would remain locked and I would be prosecuted. Whoever sent it clearly had no grasp of English law and how it worked, and it included files it claimed were evidence of my 'illicit browsing' which turned out to be jpeg images of my artwork! It would have been hilarious really as it was so amateurish, if it hadn't locked me out.

Browning 425 clay hunter
I'm in Manchester and it said I was in South Shields, there were spelling mistakes and the fine was £100.000 which made me chuckle how unprofessional there effort was to stop a professional like me in my tracks. grrclark
I have never had it, i just use the wifes laptop when she is out better than the wife's knickers I suppose Not seen the message in question, but I have had a couple of senior staff phone me for advice on having received something similar on their work laptops. They decided that such an enquiry was better to have directly with the gaffer and not the support desk in case word got around, given their profile in the business. They must have been dismayed when I had one of the girls in the support team call them to resolve the issue
rabbiter
happened to me last year,i rang the police, and I was so relieved when she said,"not another one, this is a scam, dont worry" so she told me to take computer to a shop to be "cleaned",the guy in the shop told me I was about the 5th person that week with this same thing, dont half make you **** yourself...........
