welshwarrior
Why are we only good at sports where you can sit in your **** ie F1,Rowing, Motorbikes yachting, Horse riding etc last night we were **** Australia ****** all over us if this was the top of the tree rugby then I sure as hell will not be watching this at a club level. Take it you mean England 😁 don't forget all the clay shooters who sit on their "fat *****" to win competitions!! Unless you don't count shooting as a sport. Big Al
Oohhh yesssss. Henderson was immense. Surely the shoe in for poc. Sean O'brien 's work rate was incredible. Like the Welsh, the Irish bench deserves huge credit for fighting through. Edited October 11, 2015 by Big Al

Argentina knocked us out in the quarters. I don't think Joe Schmidt will let them be complacent.

Agreed though. then Aussies in the Semis; that will be a brilliant game
Whitebridges
Well Chris, you can't be completely neutral after all the stick we've taken! plus the missus has some Irish blood. I would like to see another northern hemisphere winner, it's long overdue. Edited October 12, 2015 by Whitebridges
mick miller
Anyone but the Scots for me, but I have to say I would like the Welsh to get through to the semi finals but, with the long list of injuries, you have to think that the quarters will see them gone. The Irish played a gutsy game and despite losing two key players steamed on regardless, gives you a bit of confidence that they'll get through the next round against Argentina. Any reason why anybody but the Scot's? Is it because of the style of rugby played or just because it is Scotland? The reason doesn't actually matter, just curious is all. mick miller
Just because its Scotland. I find the bile, hatred and vitriol directed against the English in any sporting event from the (majority of) Scots to be more than a little tiresome and pathetic. So, I generally adopt attitude of supporting any other team that plays against them. Hence, I was rooting for Samoa in the pub up in Manchester on Saturday and perhaps not so oddly, I wasn't alone. Then when the Welsh were on we all started rooting for them.

Then when the Welsh were on we all started rooting for them. Fair enough. For what it's worth I find bile, hatred and vitriol towards anybody to be really distasteful in a sporting competition. I enjoy the rivalry between the home nations and don't mind banter between the fans, but if it descends into hatred then it is simply wrong. Do you think your opinion towards Scotland has become stronger since our referendum on independence?
mick miller
Yup. Although, having worked there for several years I found the chippy, miserable attitude toward the English has been a character trait for quite a while... I didn't really mind the insults too much, I'm English but my folks are German and Polish, so most of it went over my head.

I have to say that I think it is to Scotland's shame that we have so many who are bigoted towards England, rivalry is good and people should be patriotic about their home nation, but sadly there are just some people who take it way too far. It makes it no more excusable, but whatever bigotry exits in Scotland towards the English is mirrored south of the border as bigotry towards us. Regrettably idiocy and stupidity is universal. hambone
I have to say that there is a definite CELTIC bond between Wales, Ireland and Scotland and also sadly neglected Cornwall (Celtic as ****). However I would rather see England progress than ******* France or any southern hemisphere team. I don't even want to start on reasons why I hope Ireland knock Argentina right back to the bottom of South America.

MrM
I think the semi finals will be NZ vs SA and Ireland vs Australia. Finals NZ vs Aus, but hope it will be Ireland! Mind you the French could cause and upset, and Wales do a Japan! Edited October 13, 2015 by MrM
