Time again for the annual PW thread of the year awards .

So what has been your favourite thread ?

Surely this years best thread award must go to Ditchman and his comprehensive guide to rebuilding and modifying a 2.5 turbo landrover engine ?.

Once again Old Farrier has had a excellent thread on a punt build , he now must be on the PW legend list .

Plugger of the year was a close run thing but I think Secretagentmole just managed a few more plugs for Hatsan than evo did for daystate.

evo does not go empty handed though as he has won shock of the year for buying a airarms ft gun !

Other highlights for me personally are answer2's well written threads in the wildfowling forum .

So who would win your award and why ?

What has made you chuckle and what has got on you nerves ?

Old Farrier's punt has to be up there, but top billing is Viking's Landrover thread. It has longevity, plenty of pictures, good narrative - not too proud to ask for help - and I have enjoyed it. Anyone who is not ashamed of his Draper ratchet gets my vote.

Well done, Lee. :good:

ditchman - I can't argue with that, but I was remiss in not mentioning your thread. Brilliant painstaking detail. I admired the way a setback - cracked head, block etc - was casually dismissed - onward and upward. I have rebuilt a few engines, but have never had to do the piece by piece restoration, to the level that you did.

All credit.

The tip about stretched rubber "o" rings was priceless. That would have saved me a few quid on motocross spares.

My vote goes to Old Farrier , purely on basis that I know a little bit about gun punts, having had a few over the years and I could follow step by step the amazing job both O F and his fellow helpers achieved .

Second vote goes to Ditchman for his dedication in rebuilding a diesel engine , not only did he explain what he was doing he also took some excellent photos to show us the progress from start to finish , although having said that , I still havent got a clue what the parts do , but looking at the amount of posts on his thread a lot of people do know what he is doing and are enjoying every post he put on about it . :good:
