oxfordfowler
Not sure which section this should go in - but - as most folk that I know would read this section. My 18 month old Labrador "Inca" died suddenly at 06:00 this morning. She was led down, no sign of being ill and just let out an excruciating howl. I got to her almost as the howl ended but it was obvious very quickly that she was gone. Just cannot believe it. Will keep some good memories of her - just finished her first shooting season, retrieved Ducks from the Nene and the Ouse Washes, 2 Pinks from Andersons Creek plus numerous Pheasants. ******** - just does not seem fair to go so young. No idea what the cause was. Still undecided whether to take her to the Vets for a PM or just bury her in the wood at the back of the house. ****** it all then

rodp
Just bury her close to her favourite spot, you don't want her messed with at the vets.

JDog
Not good news. My commiserations. We dog owners are all different when it comes to burying our dogs. When mine go I wrap them in my favourite shooting jackets and bury them in a place with happy memories of the dog and I. I am not at all sure about asking a vet to do a post mortem. Reabrook
That's awful at such a young age. My sincere condolences. I'm not sure I could bury her without knowing what was the cause but that is an entirely personal decision for you to make.
