rodp
Many ex-pats living in EU countries are entitled to vote and will do so by postal vote. I would guess that the overwhelming majority of those will vote to stay in as leaving the EU would be a nightmare for them. For one thing their old age pensions would not be increased in line with inflation and they may have to pay massive health fees. Is it fair that someone who has more or less deserted the country should vote (those who effectively emigrated)? Im Out, Davey boy will scare the masses with his don't jump in to the dark routine though.... We've yet to see what Boris comes up with, he is quite good at withholding stuff until the last minute then dropping a bombshell. He's also a lot cuter than call me Dave (no, I don't mean pretty)

UKPoacher
Is it fair that someone who has more or less deserted the country should vote (those who effectively emigrated)? Fair or not it is their legal right and many will vote to stay. As I have already said; I am entitled to vote, but won't for the reason that I personally don't think it is right. JRDS
Just reading the BBC guide to the referendum which quotes as of 2 hours ago the vast majority of big business wishes to stay in!! Blatant lies and propaganda given only 33% of the top 100 FTSE signed Puffin Faces letter. Much other misleading ******** also present, the BBC should be totally neutral in this they want taking off air. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-32810887 Out MP's also banned from having access to documentation, reports and advice quite sickening in a so called democracy. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/eureferendum/12169645/eu-referendum-brexit-businesses-ftse-100-letter-david-cameron-live.html Bring on the Brexit and Camerons exit. Funny how Cameron hasn't mentioned the impending inclusion of Turkey, some Balkan and North African countries all full of high unemployment, low skills base and anti Christian sentiment. All economics to one side this alone means we must get out or our culture is doomed and in a generation the country will be unrecognisable for our children's futures even if it doesn't bring civil war through Europe. treetree
Or, if you look at our history, you'll see we're actually rather good at it! If anything, the 'Europe movement' has been the backbone of the longest period of peace in history and not the cause of animosity. Er, no. NATO (mainly American) troops kept the peace directly post world war 2. EU expansionism into the Russian's backyard has created the Ukraine conflict. Quite a lot of the companies that signed the letter were hardly impartial. Asda for example, I use the Asda store near Beddington (Croydon) in south London, its a great shop, flippin' marvellous shop in fact, part of the reason its so good is because a lot of the staff are Eastern European. Thats not a criticism at all they are bright, friendly helpful, really on the ball and probably working for peanuts. Asda knows which side its bread is buttered. I suspect a lot of other companies see the EU the same way, a source of endless. top quality staff on the cheap. Without the EU they would have to recruit from what the jobcentre sends them.. Danger-Mouse
this is all well and good but whos keeping score of ins and outs should of had a poll on this thread The majority are saying out. Hardley a surprise given the opinions expressed in these previous threads which did have a poll to vote on. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/322500-eu-referendum/ ^^90% for leaving http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/312235-eu-referendum/ ^^74.4% for leaving but this poll did have an undecided option (10%) which was not available in the previous poll. Edit - interesting to see in the thread started by yours truly, that quite a few people didn`t ever think we`d get a straight in/out referendum. . . Oh you cynical people Edited February 23, 2016 by Danger-Mouse

Danger-Mouse
I was just looking back at those older threads and saw this from 20th Oct 2015 "Of course Jellyfish Dave will come back and claim to have 'negotiated' a deal whereby we can opt out of 'ever closer union'" Props to Poontang for his stunningly accurate prediction. McSpredder
Some big companies say we must stay in the EU. Should we rely on their advice? Have they shown financial competence in recent years? Here are two examples: Vodafone (share price down 39% since 2007, from 354p to 214p) M&S (share price down 43% since 2007, from 743p to 421p)

Scully
It would seem the PW massif OUT vote isn't indicative of the UK public. The split between in and out, according to the news this morning, is very very narrow, with one poll showing only 1% difference in favour of leaving and another showing the IN voters leading by around 5%. A lot of this, it is claimed, is the result of big business claiming jobs will be lost if we leave. Have also read ( but not sure how true it is ) that as from Oct 2016 Turkey will be granted visa free travel to the EU, which would in effect mean that European borders would end at Syria. Let the scare mongering commence.
